The sound quality is pretty high actually, I can hear all the highs and lows, neither one overpowers the other, which is nice although i'd maybe like the bass a bit stronger.
I haven't found any problems with them not being stable in my ears, they never fall out. A problem I ... ...length being to short resulting in the headphones pulling off my head. That happens alot due to the ipod having it's socket on the bottom of it.
What I have noticed though is they can feel rather uncomfortable in extended use, with or without the fabric piece. I think it's because the shape isn't perfectly round smooth.

I haven't found any problems with them not being stable in my ears, they never fall out. A problem I have had with a few other headphones was the wire length being to short resulting in the headphones pulling off my head. That happens alot due to the ipod having it's socket on the bottom of it. What I have noticed though is they can feel rather uncomfortable in extended use, with or without the fabric piece. Aesthetically I'm not over keen on the design, it's a bit to square, I like earphones to be nice and round but that's just me. It's got an integrated volume control on the wire, useful to quickly silence your music.
So basically since I value my sound before anything else they are worth paying out for and for under £15 what more could you ask for.
Advantages: Cheap, good sound quality, presented well Disadvantages: Don't stay your ear too well, covers for speakers useless
The Sennheiser MX 500 earphones aren't the best earphones that sennheiser have ever made. They don't fit too well into some people's ears and the little covers for the speakers that they come with are virtually useless, but if you're looking for some cheap headphones maybe as a temporary solution or just something you might not use everyday, these headphones are probably your best bet.
On the posotive side, these headphones produce very high quality ... ...As with all in ear headphones you tend to hear more of the treble-y sounds more than the bass-y sounds, but the bass frequencies are still there, and compared with other headphones of the same price I would say that you get the greatest range of sounds from these. They also come with a handy case to put them in which also retracts the lead (takes a while to get used to using them).
However, on the negative side, you can spend a while fiddiling around ...

Advantages: Excellent Sound / Smart Carry Case Disadvantages: Poor Fit / Flimsy Foam Covers
I bought these as an upgrade to replace the dreadful looking headphones that came with my MP3 player. The Mx500s came highly recommended by a number of trusted sources who praised their sonic abilities, and in that respect they didn't disappoint. A detailed sound with good levels of bass for such a small unit. I also liked their understated appearance and the useful spool-in case. However, the main drawback (for me at least) is the fact that the ... ...may be slightly on the large size, but not freakishly so. No matter how I position them or jam them in, they are absolutely guaranteed to fall out after a minute or so of light walking. As for wearing them down the gym - forget it!
I have also noticed that the foam earpiece covers have started to split after just week of use, which may be brought on by my constant fiddling, but which I feel is completely unacceptable from a top name like Sennheiser. ...

The MX 500 earphones give great sound quality for any users. With a built-in volume control, the earphones can be used with any walkman, CD player, MP3 player or HiFi. I used this with my iPod and was surprised at how good the sound quality is, due to the low price I bought them for. These immediately replaced my original earphones and I have never looked back once. I would recommend these for any person who is on the go and enjoys listening to music.
... ...practical. The volume control is also successful since it makes it easy to adjust the volume if the portable device is in a pocket. There is very little noise leaking from the headphones so then nobody else can hear what I'm listening to. The bass on these headphones is good but there are better out there. That is the reason why I have given it only 4 stars. ...

Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: Poor bottom and top end reproduction, a bit too small for my ears, zero isolation
It's hard to believe I bought the same thing as the previous reviewer. They provide no isolation whatsoever; the supplied foam plugs (2 sets, not 4, and all the same size) are only just large enough to stop the buds from falling out of my ears; finally the sound quality leaves a great deal to be desired. Without equalisation they are simply unusable. With maximum bass and minimum treble they are better balanced, but the bottom end is rather muffled and the top end is utterly fizzy (think frying pan sizzling). The mid-range reproduction is excellent and highly detailed, but that's really a minimum criterion for bothering to listen to anything.
Sure, they're probably better than most players' supplied buds, but I would rather have spent 3 times as much as these cost on something 3 times as good. My old SennheiserMX500s (the ...

Advantages: Good Sound Quality, Noise Cancelation Worked Well Disadvantages: Impractically bulky, Eats up batteries
player in your pocket, the box would continuously keep pulling the ear buds out. Fortunately you can leave the noise canceling off and still listen.
Although it may have simply been a bad purchase on my part. I can easily see how these could benefit people who travel on planes a lot as I used these earphones twice when I went on holiday, with noise cancellation turned on and it made quite a difference, but the battery and quality started to diminish on the flight back (about 6 hours of use).
The sound quality was really quite something compared to my old SennheisserMX500's - music was so much clearer and a joy to listen to. It came supplied with 3 different sized ear buds which fit inside my ears perfectly, apart from occasionally being pulled out due to the annoying box!
These are a good pair of earphones - if sound quality ...
Advantages: Tiny, huge battery life, great sound. Disadvantages: Only a player...
the player skip; a stylish charging cradle into which you can drop the player to charge it in style; and personal disc memory, which I personally don't find useful but will store your settings and programs for discs if you so wish.
One of the most worthy things to mention would be the battery life of the player, which is quite simply spectacular. I'm not sure what Sony quote this as but I've had the player last for weeks of regular use on a single charge and decent AA battery - I wouldnt be surprised if this hits over 100 hours...
The sound quality (though obviously dependent on your recording equipment) is very good, full and bassy with enhancement on and it can go more than loud enough for most situations. If you really want to get the best sound out of it I would recommend buying some SennheiserMX500 earphones or Sony Fontopias as these ...
