Having bought a portable DVD player for long haul flights, I went looking for a reasonably priced pair of ultra- portable, noise-cancelling headphones to use them with. After a fair bit of research, I settled on the PXC250 and managed to buy a pair from Amazon for slightly less than £50. I opted for free super-saver delivery and they arrived without hassle a couple of days later.
The headphones are engineered to so that they fold into a fairly compact shape which fits neatly into the carry case provided. A number of ?phone jacks are also supplied to cater for a variety of inputs. Crucially for me, I could use them with the DVD player, my iPod, in-seat headphone jacks on most airlines and my stereo system at home.

days trawling through endless web pages I looked at the SennheiserPXC series, which come in a few variants, the PXC100, PXC200, & you guessed it the PXC 300 series
Prices varied and I couldn't see anything major that would make me spend the extra £30 for the PXC300 units so I decided to buy the PXC 250 - £70 from Amazon.co.uk - you can choose to order them in white or black. I chose black - not wanting to advertise the fact that I have an IPOD (as it happens, I dont have one !!)
When I received the unit,, it was packaged in a little carry bag which has a front pocket for storing of the accessories, you get an airplane adapter but you can also store spare batteries in there as well.
