Senokot Max Strength with senna contains natural senna but is double the strength of senokot tablets and can be used to gently and effectively treat the problem of constipation.

This laxative is made with natural senna which gives enough active ingredient in each dose to give a predictable and reliable relief from occasional constipation.

The tablets which are swallowed come in two strips of 12 in a box and are a rather unappetising beige colour which also have a fairly unplesant odour.

It is best to take one tablet at night and usually this will be enough to relief the constipation the next morning and only one tablet should be consumed within a 24 hour period as these are quite strong and more could lead to the reverse and an upset stomach. It usually takes between 8 and 12 hours to work.

These are only for occasional use and if your symptons are not improved you should consult with your doctor however the one tablet does can be repeated until normal bowel action is restored but if this does not occur within three days, it is recommended that you consult your doctor before taking any more doses.

As with all medicines these should be kept out of reach of children and notice should be taken of the warnings on the back of the box, i.e. do nt use if your abdomen is tender to touch or hurts when you move or you have a sharp or persistent pain alongside your constipation.

I have found these tablets to work every time I have treated the odd bout of constipation and have never suffered any side effects from taking them and although are based on natural ingredients I have found them to be very effective and reliable so can happily recommend them to you as a good item to have in your medicine drawer. Children over the age of 12 can use these, those under that age should not take them without first consulting with their doctor.

A box of 24 tablets costs £3.85 from points (plus you receive 12 advantage card points) although if you shop around you may well find these cheaper.
