...the bookshelf had it not been recommended reading for a course I was undertaking last Autumn. I obtained a copy from the library, found it to be a relatively easy read, made a few notes from it, and returned it.
Cheryl Richardson identifies 7 key obstacles that in her experience consistently prevent people from living the lives they love. Her recipe for success in life is to learn how to overcome each of these obstacles (if it applies). Much of it is common sense but the occasional item may take the reader by surprise. I made a few resolutions whilst reading this book, and on re-examining my notes am surprised to find that I have stuck to them!
The first obstacle that many of us face is that we are reluctant to put ourselves first; we may have been brought up to regard “selfish” as a dirty word. But common sense says if we are to achieve goals...

...Sense of humour failure Aurthur Dent has made friends with a being from another galaxy called Ford Prefect. Ford, during his travels through many galaxy's in his quest to write a book entitled "The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy" has ended up being on earth a little longer than expected - he came down just to get an overall picture of earth, one which he thought would take him all of five minutes, only to find that he couldn't hitch hike himself out of earth for quite some time.
This book is very funny as it chronicals Arthur and Ford's travels through the universe meeting some very weird but funny friends of Ford's along the way as well as learning about life the universe and everything and that the answer to it all is a simple 42! Now you know this you can go back to enjoying your lives!...
