I purchased this machine from Powerhouse Retail on 18th June 2002. It cost £159.99 in a special deal. I thought I was getting a bargain. Powerhouse charged me £15.99 to deliver the washing machine and take my old one away, which I didnt think was too bad. They did not unpack of plumb the machine in. when I unpacked the machine the first impression I got was that it looked very cheap. However, it has a lot of prgrammes, a big door for loading and also a big drum so you can fit a lot in at a time.
From the first use I was not impressed with the time a programme takes. The average 40 degree wash takes 1.5 hours! Not good if you have kids and do two or three loads a day! The soap powder draw is well designed but after two months began to leak from the front of the machine. When I called Servis they told me my water pressure was too high and to lower it, so I did and subsequently the machine failed to take all of the powder I put in!

After EIGHT calls to them to complain they managed to get an engineer out two days later. He replaced circuit and the machine appeared to work OK.
two months later the machine was not heating the water up and it was obvious the thermo was broken. As the dial just went round with no impact. An engineer was called again, this time it took three days and he came out and said there was nothing wrong with the machine. No repair was done and subsequentyl I Am convinced that we have been washing our clothes in cold water for the last eight months!
Two weeks ago the door lock broke, so that my 18 month old could open the door whilst the machine was in operation I called Servis again who sent an engineer out to look at it and sadi he would need to order a part. Whilst waiting for his return visit the door handle itslef actually snapped off whilst my wife was trying to open the machine. So we spent the last week or so having to open the machine with a screwdriver! The engineer eventually returned this morning and put a new door lock and mehanism in. he obviously did not check it prior to his departure since when we went to put the machine on when he had left it failed to work at all. Now the machine is completely out of use until they can get hold of the engineer again.
Did I mention the fact that the engineer rarely arrives when he says he will. hey cant give an AM or PM its just we'll be her on Thursday, and invariably they never show up. Consequently during the last twelve months that I have owned a Servis washing machine I have had A MONTH where the machine has been completely unusable and FIVE MONTHS where the machine has not been functioning correctly. Additionally, due to Servis incompetance I have wasted A WEEK waiting in for engineers who dont arrive.
In conclusion I would say that the washing machine is cheap, nasty as is the company who dont appear to be bohered by the fact that you own a machine of theirs which is completely unreliable. In my view the £159.99 I spent was completely wasted and I Will NEVER BUY a SERVIS MACHINE AGAIN. Also, you would think Powerhouse would give some after sales service? NO - their view is that the product has a 12 month manufacturers guarantee and they are not interested in repair or replacement unless you buy the extra guarantee which kicks in after teh 12 months. So they too get a thumbs down from me and again I will never buy from POWERHOUSE!
