Advantages: Reliable recording; Excellent picture quality; Some HD without subscription; 2 year warranty Disadvantages: Expensive; Issues when catching up with live broadcast; Unresponsive remote
If, like me, you begrudge paying monthly for the recording features a Sky+ box offers and have suffered unreliability issues with budget PVR/DVR alternatives such as Thomson, this piece of kit could be what you're looking for.

Over priced, ugly & cheap feel but does it's job really well.
Advantages: Pause, rewind, record TV. Record 2 channels, watch a third. USB port to transfer programs to PC. Disadvantages: VERY expensive for what it is. Looks very dated. User interface feels cheap.

A fantastic piece of kit
Advantages: HD Channels, Free, Series Link and record function, iPlayer, ITV Player Disadvantages: None really. I suppose the price, but you get what you pay for with electronics.
