When I gave birth to my son I had a bad time and having him resulted in me losing a dangerous amount of blood. The hospital didn't realise until around 48 hours after delivery just how bad a state I was in, I was drifting in and out of consciousness on a few occasions and was generally wiped out! They gave me a blood transfusion and then allowed me to go home 72 hours later. Now me being a bit of an idiot got home and decided that I had to unpack all my bags and put everything away, get the washer on, sort out the nursery and do a whole host of other jobs that really weren't essential or at least should have been done by someone else! I put myself back into a real state of exhaustion and the doctor had to be called out to me that night. The doctor recommended as much rest as possible (ha, with a newborn?!) and Seven Seas vitamin and mineral tonic.
Seven Seas vitamin and mineral tonic is a supplement which can be used from children from 6 months of age right up until adult life. It is particularly useful during and after illness. The tonic comes in a blue box with pictures of oranges down the side. Inside the box is a 300ml brown bottle with a white child friendly screw cap on. Inside the bottle is a very sweet orange liquid which is enriched with vitamins and minerals. Included are:
Vitamin ANow individually I will admit I haven't got the slightest idea what those things do! However I will say that this tonic really did seem to help my recovery after giving birth. I began to feel more energised and generally better. I have recently bought the product again from boots for £4.99 however I did buy it in a three for two promotion which was running at Boots at the time and it does seem to run quite regularly on vitamins and things. I have been feeling tired and run down again and felt that this may help give me a bit of a boost.
The dosage for an adult is 10ml three times a day, so I tend to do breakfast, lunch and tea time. For children aged 6 month to 3 years they can take 5ml twice a day and for children 3 and above they can have 5ml three times a day. You should not take more than the stated dose. The liquid as I mentioned is orange and quite sweet and I find it easy enough to take. My only problem is that sometimes I can actually forget to take the tonic as I am rushing around preparing meals, or getting my son to school etc.The box states that side effects are rare but if you do notice anything unusual to contact your pharmacist or doctor. I haven't noticed any side effects at all personally.
When you take the tonic it is a good idea to just give the bottle a quick wipe with a cloth or a piece of kitchen roll or something as inevitably some of the tonic drips down the bottle and it can get very sticky if you don't give it a quick wipe.So all in all I do recommend this product. If anything I think it helps me feel a little less tired, and being a single mum I need all the help I can get with that. I am sure it can't be doing me any harm to take a vitamin tonic and I will continue to do so until I am feeling much better
