I got this book as a present and admittedly, it's not the type of book I normally go for. I left it a while before reading but I am not sorry I did! The plot, the characters, the setting all enthral the reader drawing me into the midst of the tale. I have to admit as the tale intensified, at one point I had to put it down, turn the light on and breathe, because it gets quite dark in places! Maureen Johnson will be growing in popularity very quickly if anyone with any sense picks up this book!
