Advantages this play was mixed with bouncers

Disadvantages none

I went to see this play by some HND students at Birmingham theatre school. It was bouncers and shakers a remix which was bouncers and shakers together showing both sides of the story about a Friday night! The bouncer's story and how four hard men view the weekend as people are going into the club, then shakers with the waitresses and the typical what happens on their Friday night. I really can't explain it very well but it was incredibly funny and I would recommend reading both! Or seeing both or acting in, directing!!!! I really love Jon Godbers work and these two are both my joint favourite. I would recommend going to see shakers first it's a very popular play and then reading it!

As this review has not been all that helpful I will begin to explain each play individually, but you must understand that the two plays were put together. Not interacting together but like a bit of bouncers and then a bit of shakers like two different stories going on in Eastenders. And I've got to say it works very well.

Bouncers:

Enter the secret world of the bouncer, on the edge of the law, maligned by the public and media as muscle-bound thugs yet essential to the workings of the night-time economy. Here, they tell their own stories, including what they don't admit in public and what they won't tell the police. It contains real humour and at times can be quite dark I think it is called 'black humour'

Shakers:

Four waitress work at the fanciest cocktail club in town. They work great as a team, their personalities compliment each other. But they are all they're own unique and special character all of which flourish throughout this play/book The mixture of fast paced over the top action, mixed with multiple roles, Shakers (re-stirred) is another brilliant John Godber play.
