I brought the Shark Steam Mop a few months ago now and my experience with gadgets of the T.V up until now they have been pretty rubbish.
What is the Shark Steam Mop -?
It is a mop that uses steam instead of water to clean away grim and dirt and grease.
It is very light weight in fact it only weighs 3lbs
It does not use any harsh chemicals
It takes just 30 seconds to heat up.
How to use the Steam Mop -
Remove all parts from the box and follow the instructions and putting the mop together, it is very simple, it is just the case of putting the handle together and attaching the micro fibre cloth to the bottom of the mop, it has like Velcro strips across the underneath side of the cloth and has 2 strips on the mop so you can match them up perfectly.
You then get the small funnel and place it in the hole on the main body of the mop and then get the small tipped pot, fill it with plain water and pour it into the mop up to the max level, place the screw top back on and do up.
Next step plug the mop in a small green light will come on and wait 30 seconds for it to heat up, sweep the floor before you mop it and you're ready to go. Pump the handle and steam will instantly start to come out, the more you pump the more steam you have. Then off you go, mop away. Don't forget to fill the tank up once the water runs low. It takes 240mls of water Once you have finished unplug it and remove the micro fibre cloth and put it in the washing machine ready for next time.
What I think of the Steam Mop -
I actually do think it is very good and worth the money because it does actually save you money in the long run. It does remove most stubborn stains and marks and scuffs, some may need a little bit of help but on the whole it does a brilliant job. To be honest when you use a normal mop and water it may leave a smeary finish on the floor but when you use the steam mop it leaves an almost shinny finish on the floor with no streaks. I know that no harsh chemicals have been used and that it is all natural. It so easy and light to use, it really is just fill up, plug and go, even into corners I found it easy to use, the only thing I will say is if you haven't swept all the dust away it will leave a line in front of the mop where you have stopped, but a paper towel does the trick to remove it. It dries a lot quicker then water as it is only steam.
You can use it on almost any flooring which includes: Linoleum Vinyl Ceramic Sealed Hardwood Natural Stone Laminate Carpets
Do not use on: Unsealed floors Waxed floors.
When using it for stains on the carpets you use the carpet glider, just place the steam mop on top of the glider and steam the stain off the carpet, I would say it is for only small areas.
Because the Micro Fibre pads are very strong and absorbent the dirt clings to it as the steam lifts off the grime, grease and dirt and the steam absorbs into the cloth.
It is amazing when you lift the mop up and just see how dirty the cloth is, it's a real eye opener, and then just pop in the washing machine and wash and re-use. It comes with 2 Micro Fibre mops but you can order more on-line.
I think it is very environmentally friendly and saves you so much money in the long run as you don't have to buy any floor cleaners or disinfectants There are no smells from chemicals, you just know when you have finished the floors are spotless clean and sanitized, this is because it gets hot so it kills most germs.
You do not need to add chemicals at all just use plain tap water, although you can use distilled water. Do not use any scent oils or perfumes.
My only other niggle is that the cord could do with being just a little bit longer, it's alright for a medium size room but if you have a hall way as well then you will need to unplug and find another plug socket.
Just to let you know it is a 'non-pressurised' mop so you don't have to turn it off when you want to re-fill. You can easily do a medium sized room on one tank full.
Cleaning the unit:
Let the mop cool down and empty remaining water down the sink, refill with water and rinse out. That is all you need to do. If you use distilled water you don't even need to do that.
Benefits from using steam:
First of all it's all natural. It won't stain or mark clothing or furniture. Very cost effective. Steam kills bacteria like e-coli, listeria, and salmonella. It's great for allergy suffers. No unpleasant smells. No horrible buckets of water that usually get split. No smelly mops
It is a bit on the expensive side but like a said earlier it will save you money in the long run. I brought mine of a shopping channel on the T.V for £59.95. Unfortunately the micro fibre clothes are out of stock but you can buy them direct from Shark vac direct which costs $23.80 for 3 which is about £12.30.
I would give this product a big 9/10 I couldn't do without it now.
Brilliant - my kitchen could do with meeting one of these!

It looks good, I have a steam cleaner that can be used on anything it actually cost the same amount as this. I think this is a little pricey for what it is, but like you say it is worth it and will save you time and money. Very well reviewed :)
