Advantages: Great picture and fully adjustable height and rotation Disadvantages: 1 Watt output speakers and instructions on a DVD
...The Acer AL 1922AS was given good marks by several PC Magazines so when my old CRT started playing up. I looked for further information on the Internet. There were quite a few good reviews on the Acer, which encouraged me to look further. I rather fancied a thin flat screen model and decided to go from 17" to 19" the AL1922 LCD fitted the bill.
Features:
Size:
It's a 19" screen (376-x 301-mm) which is great for organising your desktop and watching slide shows and video. A 19" TFT has roughly the same viewing area as a 21" CRT. This means you can have several projects on the desktop at the same time.
Contrast:
A contrast ratio of a 1000:1 as I use my PC for photo editing and printing this is important
Resolution
A high resolution of 1280 by 1024 and a 24 bit colour depth. This is great for photos and video. I watched a DVD...

Advantages: Crystalbrite Background, DVI, 8ms response Disadvantages: Bulky power supply
...when switching the monitor on for the first time is something that Acer call Crystalbrite. This means that the background really is the darkest black you could imagine and is comparable to that which Sony use on its Vaio range, this is the first big improvement I noticed over the AL1914. The picture is also extremely sharp and crystal clear, and all of this is via the VGA input rather than the supposedly higher quality DVI.
If you need to change any of the monitor settings, there is an on-screen menu which is accessible from the front of the monitors base which again is a vast improvement from my old AL1914.
On the monitor I recieved there were no dead pixels visible and everything appears to be running smoothly.
As I said earlier, I received this monitor as a replacement under the Acer warranty (the AL1914 developed an unfixable fault...

Advantages: 16.2m million colour TFT display, easy to use, great for gaming, wonderful contrast ratio Disadvantages: A faster response time would make it THE ULTIMATE monitor for gaming
...I just had to tell more people about my 22" widescreen monitor and spread the word of the Acer brilliance packed in the AL2216W as my family and mates keep telling to shut up raving about it so here I am and these are my words on the AL2216W. For the record, it ain't cheap at £199.99 but you can't put a price on perfection and I would happily pay twice that for the AL2216W.
The monitor is widescreen and has a resolution of 1680x1050. With a contrast ratio of 700:1, the picture is sharp and really vibrant. Gaming online sometimes it looks like there has been an explosion of colours, with shading being far superior to any monitor I've used before and trust me, I've used lots and lots. The response time is nothing spectacular though at 5ms. It doesn't have any detrimental effect on playability when gaming but it could be improved to keep...

I have been using this screen constantly for the past three months, on a GeForce 8800GTS graphics card, and so far I can have no complaints. Colour reproduction is excellent, and the viewing angles are fantastic. Standing up or sitting down - I can... more
