Playable formats
Devide is able to play almost all common formats including SCAD Multi and DVD-Audio what is not common for the price category of this device. The only one format
which i wasnt able to play was Mini DV. The device recognizes it but it will not play. The supported are:DVD/CD/SVCD/VCD/CD-R/CD-RW/DVD-R/DVD-RW/ DVD+R/DVD+RW/ DivX 5/ DivX 4/ DivX 3/ DivX VOD/DivX ULTRA, MP3 / WMA, MPEG4-AAC.
Video
Supported is 4:3 and 16:9. Video is very high quality when playing DVD - it is sharp and live. There are many possibilities to set corrections for the video.
You can set sharpness, Brightness, Contrast, Gamma, Hue, Chroma level, BNR.
Finally thing I apreciate is that it consumes a low ammount of energy - playing 12W, stand-by only 0.8w...

Advantages: Great quality of picture and sound, huge number of functions, is small and looks great Disadvantages: Some functions are annoying when they don't work on the remote, can be very expensive, automatically starts up when you don't want it to
...a silver/chrome look finish, which works nicely with its small size and hi-tech features. The picture it gives when playing DVDs is phenomenal. Obviously much better than VHS quality, the DVD is shown at an even higher resolution through the player than on my computer, and so produces a better sound and a clearer picture, enabling a better experience with each film.
The special features which my remote enables us to do is view certain scenes from more than one position by clicking a button in the movie when a special symbol appears onscreen, it has an instant menu button and a clear set of controls which are easy to use, although the more advanced features require more of a knowledge of how to use the remote to its best capability.
Of course all of this comes at a price. The DV600H costs around £300 at the last time I checked. This sounds...

...I got a multi region enabled version of this Sharp DVD player for £230. Fantastic picture quality and great sound, as you would expect. The palyer is super small so will fit into any small space (important when you have an ever growing "entertainment centre"). Unit has some great features and trickery to get the best out of the DVD format, including automatic picture sharpening and brightening. Well worth the money, even at the full retail, single region price. Check out Futuretronics for their latest price deals, as all units are supplied pre converted to multi region playback (and often have extended warranties too)....
