let me tell you about the sharp gx10. This phone is available in silver colour. On the front cover of the phone there is an external display and an integrated camera lens at the bottom. There is a small mirror to the left. You can use this while taking a picture of yourself. It is necessary to open the phone to take shots. Near the mirror you will find a call indicator which begins to work while different events happen, for example while incoming calls. Only one text line can be displayed on the external screen, either date and time in standby mode or a phone number in talking mode. It aslo displays the network you are on which would be Vodaphone. It includes signal level, power level, message and some other indicators. The external screen has pastel blue, almost white backlighting and it is quite bright. This has a liquid crystal display. Two volume keys are on the left hand side of the phone. There is nothing really interesting at the rear of the phone just the loudspeaker.
PHONE DIMENSIONS.
The dimensions are 94x49x27mm. Its not really a compact phone but it will fit into a shirt pocket. It weighs 110g which is a bit more than an average weight of a handset of this class.
When you open or close the phone you hear a click. first, when you open the phone you will see a large internal colour screen (TFT,65K), which has a resolution of 120x160 pixels. Screen quality is very good and the picture is really clear. Text information is readable. Up to 8 text line, tips to the soft key use, service network and a title can be displayed on this screen. Its pretty big and you can almost see a whole text message on it. There are 4 direction keys with a m key in the middle to gain access to the menu. These are under the screen. The alphanumeric keys have a green backlight. These are quite visable in the dark or on a sunny day. I would say this phone has a handy keypad, the keys are well spaced and respond well to commands. The phone has a lithium-ion battery of 720 mAh capacity. Vodaphone say the can work up to 110 hour in standby mode and up to 3.5 hours in talking mode. I found it to last fairly well and had to charge it every couple of days.
THE MENU.
the key is used to access messages and the right key is used to get onto the wap, vodaphone live. The menu is really easy to get used to and there are some short cut keys. You can look in your phone book when you press the vertical arrows.
PHONEBOOK.
You can store up to 500 numbers in this and have 3 numbers for each name if you like. You can also choose an icon next to their name to say if they are friends, family etc and also email addresses if they have one. All numbers you store ( from phone memory and sim memory) are displayed in one list. You can search for names by first letter.
MESSAGES.
This phone supports both sms and mms messages and i mainly used it for sms. You can text up to 1024 characters. There are different settings and up to 20 templates to use. You can keep outgoing messages in the outbox or drafts folder. The manual doesnt say how much memory space for messages there was so i cant really tell you that bit.
TO USE THE CAMERA.
The camera sub menu is after messages. You can also enter the camera by pressing the m button from standby mode.then you are ready to take pictures. All photos are saved in JPG format and you can select one of 5 brightness levels and one of 2 camera modes. There is also a really handy timer so you can get your mates and gather round for a nice photo togeather. Pictures of friends and family can be put on to show up when they ring you. The phone stores up to 50 pictures.
FUN AND GAMES.
The games you can play are java games and the phone comes with 3 pre-installed games, these are: PK Game - you are a goalkeeper and have to try and save goals. Collection Hunter - A remake of Arachnoids. This is an addictive one. Ice Hockey- this explains itself really. A music composer is located in this menu too. You can create your own melodies.
PROFILES.
You can set your phone on silent etc from here.
ORGANISER.
There is a calculator, currency convertor, 5 alarm clocks which can alert to daily. Any sound or tune can be set as an alarm warning. The calander isnt very good though as it is hard to set special reminder notes.
The settings on this phone are easy to use and the ringtones are pretty good. There are 16 to choose from and are polyphonic. You can hear them quite loudly but sometimes if you are somewhere busy you might not always hear it.
When i bought this phone it cost me 150 quid which is a lot of money but at the time it was a newer phone im not quite sure how much they cost now, probably a lot less. I would say this phone is brilliant and although its a bit pricey its worth the buy. It looks nice and sounds great.
Advantages: Even a caveman like me can use it Disadvantages: The alarm feature is rubbish
...They were offering the Sharp GX10 for an “amazing £49.99 to existing customers”.
“Great,” I said. “What’s a GX10?” (Believe me when I say, I really am not up on this kind of thing!)
“It’s that phone that Beckham advertises on tv – you know - the one that takes pictures,” the young man enthused. Now, without trying to sound sexist – I immediately (metaphorically and temporarily, ... ...off? Not with this Sharp little beauty. Once the battery and SIM are installed, install the charger and plug the phone in. Leave to charge for approx. 2 hours. After these simple steps have been followed, it’s then time to play – or, if you’re like me, you will already be ‘faffing’ about with it whilst it is charging.

...its the turn of the Sharp GX10. A lovely chrome phone 3 inches tall and over an inch think. A real 'is that a GX10 in your pocket or are you just pleased to see me'? The first thing you notice bout this phone is the digital camera at the bottom but more about that later. There's a tiny, tiny screen LCD display showing the reception, battery, date and time with a mysterious 'G@, all in all its one of the ugliest phones I've ever seen. When its flipped ... ...When you open it the first thing you see is my sons face covered in ice cream! But I'll cover that later. Its got the usual buttons, but the Menu's in the middle of a circle surrounded by arrow buttons. There's also two action buttons, plenty of things to fiddle about with. (I have dreams of fiddling about with 6 inchers!!)
The left action button takes you straight to the message buttons, the right to vodafone online.
The left direction button ...

What phone? The Sharp GX10 as advertised by David Beckham as part of Vodafones’ campaign to promote their new service Vodafone live! The phone is small without being un-unusable measuring 94х49х27mm and weighs 110g with decent sized keys that blokes can use as well as women can. The phone can store a massive 500 names in the phonebook, shame I haven’t got that many mates; or if you, like me, prefer to store them on the sim you ... ...calls duration. On The Sharp you only get last call and all calls. I can check this on-line but I didn’t have to with Nokia. The phone must be switched on for the alarm clock to work. This again is, when compared to the Nokia, not exactly a deal breaker but as I am now charging two phones I can use the Nokia to wake me up and rest the ever-draining resources of the Sharp.
At what price comes all this technology? I paid 149.00 GBP as I also took ...

...the low down on the Sharp GX10. I have been with Vodafone for 5 years on contract. This year I decided to upgrade my phone. I’d seen the GX10 in the shops, retailing for around £150 (contract) to £350, bit too expensive for a phone. Anyway, I got a call from Vodafone who asked if I was interested in upgrading my phone with a ‘special offer’. The end result was, I got the GX10 for half price, (that's under £80) new sims, kept my old number, have access ... ...1 month free access!) The Phone
Compact flip phone in silver colour, is not as heavy as other similar phones. Came with charger and hands free set. Flip lid prevents accidental ringing when in handbag. Front has display screen which illuminates when you close the lid or when a message / call is coming in. Numbers easy to use, very responsive.
Flick it open, lights up immediately with whatever picture you’ve chosen as your screen display. Has navigation ...

Advantages: Easy to use, Good battery Life Disadvantages: Aerial, Weight
This phone is much more than a fashion statement; the range of features and ease of use suprised me and it surpassed all expectations. If there are to be a couple of minor criticisms of the phone, they would be, (1) There is an aerial, which for blokes can be a problem when you're on the go and trying to get it out of your pocket, and (2) In my experience with the phone I have found that you are unable to send mms via irda (infrared), however apart ... ...it to any one.
The features are all clearly labelled and easy to access, they consist of:
Messages - texting is easy, as the buttons are big and predictive text is an option and access to previous messages in your inbox is clear. There is also an option of having delivery reports on, so you can tell when the message you have sent has been recieved by the recipient.
Camera - The camera is easy to use and is of quite a high quality but like most ...

Advantages: small, good looking, some nice features Disadvantages: poor storage capacity, unreliable access to vodafone live
I used my Sharpgx10i for just over ayear and found it to be a good, well rounded phone.
Firstly the phone is good looking and has a nice big colour screen as which has a good quality screen as well as the ability to customise the screen with photo's you have taken with the built in digital camera.
It has an external lcd screen, which is very useful for things like looking at the time and date without opening up the phone and also to quickly see if you have any messages or missed calls etc.
The external screen backlight is very useful as a makeshift torch as well if you need some bright lighting.
Messaging on the gx10 takes some practice and has a limited sized dictionary. what i mean is that although you can store new words on the phone, this inevitably means that another previously saved word will be erased! Once you ...

Advantages: Great range of tunes and games around for this mobile Disadvantages: Bulky but you cannot fault it really
I got this sharpgx10i mobile in 2005 as a birthday present and have cannot fault it since.
The battery life is great for a phone of that is quite full of technolgy.
It features a dual data cable and charger port.
You can add extra games to the 1 current game that is on their as well as extra tunes.
The camera has very good quality for a phone of its age.
You can connect it to the computer via data cable or infared using a infrared on your pc to upload photo's or take some off.
I would recommend as a gift or mobile for yourself.
It is so easy to use that even my 7 year old cousin could use it!
Because it is a flip phone you cannot make accidental calls in your pocket as the keypad is covered so it saves you money too. ...

For years I have always been a fan of Nokia phones but decided to take out a contract and thought for once I would change over to a flip phone with a built in camera and the SharpGX10i was on special offer at the tme so decided to go with it and thankfully I wasn't disappointed.
Although the phone isn't as slimline as some phones it is full of great features including Camera, Polyphonic Rings tones & Alerts plus the ability to play Java games which even though do drain the battery if played for longer than about 20 mins its still great to be able to be able to play such games similar to those you used to play in the Arcades when you were kids.
My contract is up in the next few months and I totally intend on upgrading to the GX30 which I understand is more or less the same phone except for even more quality features.
Phone ...
