The main reason I purchased this phone was because of the built-in camera. I have had a lot of fun with my camera! You will see the lens on the front of the camera. Once my contract had run out on my last mobile phone, I decided to splash out a bit and go by a new phone on pay-as-you-talk. I got a Sharp GX10i. I paid £250 for it. Although, I have since seen it for sale for £219! This phone is exclusive to Vodafone. I did, in fact, by this phone from the Vodafone shop.

When taking a photo, just point the lens to the required shot, and you will see the movement of your camera on the display screen. To take a photo just press the main button which is situated above the numbered pad. Photo's take quite well, although I have noticed that it helps if the area you are taking the photo in is lit up really well, or in the sunshine. Otherwise the photo's will come out quite dark.
Photo's can be saved onto your phone. You can also zoom in on the camera to get a closer shot. There is also a timer on the phone. When you set the timer, it will take the picture 10 seconds after setting. Very cool! Although I haven't actually tried this yet. The photo's are taken in colour.
MY PHONE Under my phone are any pictures/photo's you have saved. There is alo My Sounds. If you download any ringtones they will be stored here. From here you can download more tunes as well. There are also My Bookmarks, My Text Templates, and Memory Status.
FUN & GAMES I've had some fun with fun and games! Here you will find Java games and Other Games. If you download any games, they will be stored under Java games. You will also find Melody Maker and Tone Editor here if you want to create your own tunes. All tunes are polyphonic.
PROFILES From here you can choose your profile. These are normal, meeting, activity, car and silent. I have mine on normal. If you go into any of the modes and select 'edit', you can then edit the ringtone, vibration, keypad tones, warning tone, power on/off sounds. When turning the phone on and off it makes a sound, which can be turned off if you wish. There are already 10 different ringtones already installed on the phone, along with 5 different patterns, like a ringing phone, lower volume ringing tone etc. There are also 12 different sound effects, ie, a dog barking. The volume control for your ringtone is also in profiles.
ORGANISER The organiser is quite good. In here is the calculator, calender where you can save entries, a clock and alarm, voice memo and help list. With the voice memo you can record your own voice.
CALL MANAGER In call manager you will find the phonebook, Call Register and Diverts.
SETTINGS In settings there are the phone settings, like wallpaper, language, brightness, greeting message etc. There is also the network settings, internet settings, infrared, security and master reset.
There is also Vodafone live! and Vodafone. With Vodafone live! you will connect to the Internet and download ringtones and pictures. You can also check your horoscopes, chat and send & recieve messages. I've downloaded a couple of ringtones from here, although I don't connect very often.
The phonebook I find very cool! You can store up to 500 names. You can save them to either the Sim Card or the phonebook. Under one entry you can save up to 3 phone numbers, 1 email address, what group they are (ie, family, friends, business), any information and a photo. If you have a photo of someone in your phonebook, then when they call you, their picture will appear on the screen. You can manage 2 phonecalls at once by putting one call on hold. Conference call is a call with more than 2 people. You can include up to 5 people in a conference call.
With messages, you have the choice of sending MMS or SMS. MMS is if you want to send pictures or photo's. I have tried and tested sending a photo to my mum's email address. It worked, and she got the photo okay. She said it looked good too! Sending an SMS is easy. You have the choice of typing your message out using each key, or predivtive texting. With MMS you can also add sound. You can choose the tone you like for incoming messages.
On the screen you can have any picture which is stored in your phone. If you have a nice photo which you have taken, then you could have that as your wallpaper. I've got a picture of my dad on mine. On the side of the phone is the volume control for the earpiece. When you buy the phone you will get the earpiece plug in amongst your accessories.
In all honesty, I'm as happy as larry with this phone! It's very cool! To look at, it's very neat. The photo's take reasonably well. Trouble is, it's expensive! It may take you a little while to get to grips with this phone, but generall speaking, it is quite easy to use.
Advantages: top class camera Disadvantages: cant find a case
I purchased this phone in November, after getting a new job and deciding to treat myself! Getting my phone out after purchasing this was no longer a chore, and became more of a necessity each time someone passed me or came over to talk (for a chance to show off my new mobile!). It’s a stylish phone, advertised by David Beckham, and is therefore a cool phone to have!
It took me a while to get used to, but that is after upgrading from a phone from ... ...a little. After a few days, however, the phone and its features become more familiar and easier to use. It has a range of features, connection to Vodafone Live (internety thing!), polyphonic ringtones, a quality camera, java and normal games (preloaded and possibilities to add more) and MMS (picture messaging).

Advantages: Latest technology, large screen, memory Disadvantages: Small SMS inbox, no 'active flip', difficult to hear the other party at times
I recently acquired the Sharp GX10i on Vodafone contract from The Carphone Warehouse Direct free of charge on Anytime 200.
I was a little bit worried about this phone because whilst its feature-set is very good, it is not as small as some competing handsets such as the Sony Ericsson T610 etc.
Anyway, my phone was delivered to me and I excitedly removed it from the customised 'Vodafone live!' box. Basically, the GX10i is the same as the GX10 but ... ...displayed in the background. The Sharp GX10i has a 120x160 dot, 65,536 colour Transmissive TFT (Thin Film Transistor) LCD display. The display is clear although in daylight it can be difficult to see the display - especially if it's dirty. This isn't a problem unique to the GX10i, however, the problem seems to exist with almost every colour handset on the market at the moment. Whilst in stand-by mode, pressing the left 'hotkey' takes you straight ...

Advantages: Stylish, range of features, polyphonic ring Disadvantages: Price. Unreliable service to Vodafone Live
...you go, and bought the Sharp GX10i from The Link. It cost £249.99 and is available from most telecom stores, exclusively on the Vodafone network. It is also available free with some of the pay monthly contracts, so it is up to the individual to price the options and pick the one most suitable for their usage.
The phone itself is very stylish indeed. An attractive grey colour you can really be proud of this one. In it’s folded up state it fits nicely ... ...weighing around the 110 gram mark. The front of the phone has a small display with the time and date on as well as the digital camera lens which is included as part of the phone. Open the phone up and you are presented with a large colour screen and a keypad with the buttons actually large enough to press - a novelty with some of the latest phones!!!
The phone itself has so many options, so I think the best way to do this review is to list each ...

Advantages: Stylish, good features, easy to use, Java capabilities Disadvantages: Has an aerial, Quite heafty
I originally purchased this phone because of the stylish perception of the phone and the association with David Beckham. However when I fully charged it I realised the phone was much more than a fashion statement; the range of features and ease of use suprised me and it surpassed all expectations. If there are to be a couple of minor criticisms of the phone, they would be, (1) There is an aerial, which for blokes can be a problem when you're on the ... ...and (2) In my experience with the phone I have found that you are unable to send mms via irda (infrared), however apart from this the phone is great and I would recommend it to any one.
The features are all clearly labelled and easy to access, they consist of:
Messages - texting is easy, as the buttons are big and predictive text is an option and access to previous messages in your inbox is clear. There is also an option of having delivery reports ...

Advantages: Simple Colour Screen Mobile for a reletively cheap price Disadvantages: Not overflowing with features
nice colour screensavers on there, unfortunately you have to make do with the rather bland wallpaper.
The games are fair enough, nothing in comparison to the SharpGX10i. I have not attempted to download any of the games as the prices are very expensive.
The polyphonic ringtones are very basic polyphonic ringtones, again there is no competition between the SharpGX10i here. The phone doesn't have a ringtone composer so key press ringtones are out of the window, and unlike many phones now, you dont have the ability to 'record' your ringtones.
I wouldn't advise buying this phone with the intent on finding some " Free Ringtones or Free Games" to download. Polyphonic ringtones and games are very expensive to download.
I have not tried out the WAP service on this model, judging by the reference guide the WAP is identical to the 3410 ...

Advantages: Quality, Design, Ease of Use Disadvantages: Battery Life
I have tried a lot of handsets since I joined the mobile phone age from my first mobile, a Nokia Ringo, and whilst some of these have been good phones and some complete lemons, i.e. Motorola StarTac many years ago.
So just after crimbo I had a few quid burning a hole in my pocket and decided to get a new phone and looking around was recommended to get a SharpGX10i as I wanted one with an integrated camera. I paid my money got my handset and it was the worst phone I have ever had, reception was poor, the display was grainy and the camera took the worst picture I have ever seen and with the datacable(which cost me £30) I downloaded the pictures to my PC, they were tiny and when I tried to enlarge them they where so fuzzy and unusable. Well that was it the phone had to go.
I sent the GX10i back and bought my Motorola V300 on T ...

I was one of thos kids who grew up using nokias, so when I upgraded to a sharpgx10i a couple of years ago I was at first, understandably, I feel, a bit wary. However, the sharp phones are very easy to use, and the instruction manuals are extremely helpful. I loved my gx10, (especially seeing as it was my first flip-phone), so when I was offered a free upgrade to the gx15 I grudgingly accepted it.
As I am on a vodafone contract I got the gx15 free after having the gx10i for a year. When I received it I instantly fell in love with it, it has all the wonderful aspects of the gx10i, and then improvements on top of it. The first delight of it is the size of the screen. The phone is relatively small, and the manafacturers decided that of the screen and the buttons, they would make the screen larger and the buttons smaller. This decision I ...
