I was one of thos kids who grew up using nokias, so when I upgraded to a sharp gx10i a couple of years ago I was at first, understandably, I feel, a bit wary. However, the sharp phones are very easy to use, and the instruction manuals are extremely helpful. I loved my gx10, (especially seeing as it was my first flip-phone), so when I was offered a free upgrade to the gx15 I grudgingly accepted it. As I am on a vodafone contract I got the gx15 free after having the gx10i for a year. When I received it I instantly fell in love with it, it has all the wonderful aspects of the gx10i, and then improvements on top of it. The first delight of it is the size of the screen. The phone is relatively small, and the manafacturers decided that of the screen and the buttons, they would make the screen larger and the buttons smaller. This decision I applaud; the buttons are still easy to use and don't look uncharacteristically big on the model, and the screen is large enough to read almost a whole text message at once. Another bonus is the fact that unlike the gx10i, the gx15 has a very large memory and can store over 100 text messages. It also stores your saved messages, which is a wonderful help after drunken nights out. The phone is very light and small, and yet it is suprisingly durable. I am pretty much as clumsy as they come, and despite having dropped it numerous times it shows only a minimal amount of wear and tear. I also once lost it on a night out and it was returned to me, though I think this may have been more the help of the security guard rather than my phone sprouting legs and walking to safety. The phone comes with WAP and bluetooth capabilities, though I have to admit neither of these functions particularly appeal to me. The camera is of a surprisingly good quality, although a zoom function would have been nice. It does everything you need a phone to do, it may not have an MP3 player or radio or anything like that, but if you want a phone that does everything you need and then goes that little bit more then this is the one for you. Sometimes the battery seems to run out quite quickly, which is the only problem that I have had with it. It would be nice if it did last longer, but the phone is small, so therefore the battery has to literally be smaller too. Also I sometimes cannot get signal in certain places, but this is probably more Vodafone than Sharp. Overall I have had no problems with this phone, the 'blob' style button on the keypad works much better than the scrolling button found on other phone models. I would definitely recommend this phone, not only does it have all the basic functions you could ever want from a phone but it has extra added things to boot. A thumbs up.
