Advantages: easy to set up Disadvantages: hiding the multitude of speaker wires
I recently picked one of these up for £100 in a sale, wanted to experience the likes of Blackhawk Down in full DTS. It took a little while to change the room around to fit the satellites to their stands(not included) etc. All the sockets on the rear of the player are well marked and there is plenty of wire supplied.
Once fitted comes the satisfaction of powering up and seeing the motorised front panel lower to reveal the disc drawer ... ...the box is simplicity itself, insert a disc and the rest is done for you.
I found that by default the surround speakers were a little on the quiet side and hastily sought some instruction from the manual.
This can be a bit daunting at first but the instructions are well thought out and thorough.
Overall I am very pleased with my new aquisition and am looking forward to watching my DVD collection all over again. ... more
