I have just upgraded from the P50E in use for the last 7 months to the GA9E - I am 80% happy with the functionality of the GA9E -
pull down screen menu set up is good and easy to use and is much faster milliseconds in changeover compared to the P50E-
colours are vibrant and concise -however the screen does struggle with the darker blacks and greys- I also notice that there is some ghosting,shimmering and trailing of images which can cause the old eyes to stain a bit a times. I believe this may be due to the TV trying to upscale a digital signal to suit the HD resolution of the screen - overall though this TV does perform quite well.
Playback of DVD is excellent - colours -image etc no problem this TV performs well- I am using a Denon DVD player which supports all playback modes including upscaling through to 1080i - picture image ...
