Sharp Aquos LCD TV. LC32P50e

Advantages: Good value, good number of connections, good picture, lighter than CRT. Good for gaming consoles.
Disadvantages: HD compatible only, No Digital TV tuner, Pedestal stand provided only, No Dolby Digital.

connection. It has connections for a wall bracket, but this is not included and you need a solid coffee table or stand to sit it on. The 60,000 hr lifespan relates to its backlight. This figure only applies to the backlight mid. setting. I found my own settings for the backlight better than the automatic sensor or OPC, although this is a clever feature. The sound is good although i would have liked to have Dolby Digital/DTS. With a 32" screen you are getting into the realms of home Cinema and a seperate sound system would be ideal but not entirely neccesary. ...

Sharp as an AQUOS

Advantages: Being gamer oriented ensures high end performance, surround sound, easy to set up.
Disadvantages: Prices are likely to drop quickly after buying - as with all electronic products.

From the original creator of LCD technology comes another first - a 32" HD-ready 1080p LCD TV. The Sharp Aquos LC-32X20E was purposefully designed with gamers in mind. In addition to ordinarily providing unparalleled picture quality the LC-32X20E may also be optimised for gaming at the touch of a button. It allows for HD-sharpness and a faster response time needed by many gamers. As well as a beautiful, elegant, slim-line design and with exceptional picture and sound quality, the LC-32X20E comes with the easily recognizable piano lacquer-black finish of Sharp's products. Most gamers who own a Play Station 3 or Xbox 360 often do not realise just how much of the processing power and high end graphics capabilities of their consoles are never being revealed. Using its HD-ready 1080p resolution, the 'game mode' of the LC-32X20E ensures ...

Review of Sharp AQUOS LC-32X20E

LC32GA9E V LC32P50E

Advantages: Can accept 1080i signal and 720p - good on screen drop down menus-easy to set up and use
Disadvantages: only 2 x scart - extra HDMI added instead of keeping the RGB input

I have just upgraded from the P50E in use for the last 7 months to the GA9E - I am 80% happy with the functionality of the GA9E - pull down screen menu set up is good and easy to use and is much faster milliseconds in changeover compared to the P50E- colours are vibrant and concise -however the screen does struggle with the darker blacks and greys- I also notice that there is some ghosting, shimmering and trailing of images which can cause the old eyes to stain a bit a times. I believe this may be due to the TV trying to upscale a digital signal to suit the HD resolution of the screen - overall though this TV does perform quite well. Playback of DVD is excellent - colours -image etc no problem this TV performs well- I am using a Denon DVD player which supports all playback modes including upscaling through to 1080i - picture image ...
