I am 65, lived in USA for some years. Well educated and rather tired of the way everything seems to be 'going to the dogs', hence have started writing reviews, trying to alert others to the Good (not many) and the Bad (too many).

I am reciting all this, as I believe that most call centre operators are not properly trained and if you go off their script they are totally lost and do not know what to do, because this has happened to me during numerous calls for different matters
Well........... I had Sheila's Wheels for 21 months - everything was OK - it was a good price and easily taken on and renewed at a good price with added extras.
BUT and it is a GREAT BIG BUT!!!!...........I decided to change my car, found the one I wanted but, because I beat the new car seller down on price, they would not take the old one, so I had to sell it privately. Therefore, I needed to keep the old one insured....
SO, being the optimistic creature that I am, I rang Shelia's Wheels, thinking, that maybe there would be, at the very least, no problem and BEING EVEN MORE OPTIMISTIC, I did think that there could even be a DISCOUNT for TWO CARS.
How naiive can you get? The YOUNG male person told me that I would have to pay EXTRA if I wanted to insure another car. I asked what he meant by that and he told me that there would be a premium on top of another Insurance with them. I was so totally taken aback that I told him where he could put his premium and his Sheila's Wheeels Insurance and immediately cancelled the insurance for the old car with them. He was also very taken aback and I really think that he just did not know what to make of the situation. He stuttered and ummed and ahhed but I was adamant. and immediately looked for other insurance which I found through Confused.com.
I ended up with the Post Office, who couldn't have been more helpful and dealt with what I wanted straight away. They even 'phoned Sheila's Wheel whilst I was on the 'phone to check on my 9 years plus no claims bonus.
Happy to say, I sold my old car, the buyer had a good bargain, an 8 year old Nissan Almera GX with only 36000 miles and a full service history.
I would not use Sheila's Wheels again, as one of their adverts did state some time ago that you could insure extra cars within the family and their would be a good discount. So much for advertising and as for Staff Training, well, that's in the lap of the Gods, as no-one seems to train their Staff these days, except QVC and so far, The Post Office Car Insurance.
By the way, I don't know if many people are aware of the Web Site: saynoto0870.com You can look up Companies by numbers given by them or by name and most often find a O800 number or a landline one. I will do a review on this if the subject is available it's very worth looking at - I have saved pounds this way.
I think the use particularly of 0870 numbers and also 0845 is an abhorrent practice and goes a long way to making companies more unpopular than they already are.
.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
A good review - sometimes I wonder if the call centre staff in organisations like this are trained more in selling than in the problem-solving side, but then (as you say) that is more the company's fault than that of the person answering the phone.
One thing you could add - it occurs to me - is a comparison between the Post Office quote and the Sheila's Wheels quote.
