Shek Hair Group is a chain of hairdressers located across Northern Ireland - it is present in Coleraine, Belfast, Ballymena, Larne (and possibly other towns that I am not aware of). My experience so far has been fantastic. The Coleraine salon is stylish, laid out in a very ... ...my local London chain). Shek is also good about getting appointments with the person you want.
The haircutting I've received has been excellent. They have been helpful and given good advice, and I've always been more than satisfied. I've not had colouring done though, so can't comment on that yet.
There are lots of nice touches as well - free tea, coffee, biscuits while you are getting your hair done; staff who remember ... more

My experience so far has been fantastic. The Coleraine salon is stylish, laid out in a very modernistic fashion with the hairdressers dressed in smart black clothes (all of course with immaculate hair). The staff themselves are very friendly and all the cuts I've had have been great. I in fact wait to get my hair done here when I'm home rather than getting it done in London. The cuts I've had have been just as good as the London ones, but much cheaper (£25 for a wash, cut, blow dry in Shek, as opposed to £50-60 in my local London chain). Shek is also good about getting appointments with the person you want.

On the downside, this is undoubtedly pricey for Northern Ireland. Also, it is a bit chain - y, and for those people who like individualistic places it might seem a bit bland. Nevertheless, I think it is great, and it is fantastic to see innovative successful businesses growing back in my home country!

I have been looking for a decent hairdressers for ages, and due to pute luck, I found the Coleraine branch of this chain late last year. They have branches in Coleraine, Larne & Ballymena, and are modern, stylish salons.
Everything is computerised, meaning you always get the same person for your appointments, and allthe staff are friendly and actually listen to what you want from your hairstyle, rather than what they want to do.
Prices start from ... ...highlights cost around £75, but my hair has been in great condition since, so I don't mind paying that bit more. They are also very patient, and a cut & blow dry usually takes around an hour & my highlights took around 2 1/2 hours.
I would recommend this salon if you are in Northern Ireland, & near a salon, It is pricey, but we;; worth it! ...

Advantages: Great colourists. Generally nice atmosphere. Disadvantages: Cut hair when obviously not full trained to do so it would appear
Please avoid SHEK Carrickfergus (Co. Antrim Northern Ireland).
I went in for a half head beige blonde and a free cut.
Safe to day the colour was great. The colourist is great...AT COLOURING!!!! The colouring and free cut cost £60+ as it was only a half-head of highlights. This was on the 16-08-08.
The staff are generally good there on previous visits. But the colourist has ruined my hair by going 'off-on-one' and giving me a style I did not ask ... ...back of head and keep my lengths.
I paid because I'm a people pleaser. But also because I was in genuine SHOCK. And mute from shock. I did not tip.
I now have an inch long fringe, irregular....with layers missing.
A mullet, with much shorter blunt ends.....my hair WAS shoulder blade length. It will take me 1 year or more until I can feel uncomfortable with it. Nevermind growing the length back.
I'm still in shock. I'm still distraught. Nearly ...

shek hair group is an imaginative hair salon in L A R N E . larne is a vibrant town with lots to offer and o shek fits in well ! ! ! ! ! I love going to shek and its uni - sex so there are hott guys there too ! ! ! !
Every haircut that is fashionable in the whole of L A R N E u can almost assume has come out of S H E K . however it can get expensive, especially when u get them to get ' creative ! ' therefore i should urge you to be cautious wen ...
