Hunting for the plot of Hunted

Advantages: good ending
Disadvantages: Only read it if you've read the others

Hunted is the fifth book in mother and daughter team P.C. and Kristin Cast's House of night saga. I bought my copy for £3.49 new from Amazon, but the jacket price is £6.99, as with most books now, if you shop around you are pretty much guaranteed to get a deal on it, and I know that it's much cheaper used. At present the first five books are available in paperback, the sixth (Tempted) was released in hardcover on October 27th 2009, and should be available in paperback 7-10-2010. A seventh book, Burned, has been announced with an expected release date of May 2010. **History and background** This is another saga of teenage/young adult vampire fiction, a genre which regularly comes back into vogue. Hunting for a bargain?

Advantages: An entertaining show
Disadvantages: None

A cup of tea, a sandwich and a lunchtime sit down to watch an episode of Bargain Hunt. Although the programme centres around the contestants making a profit from their bargain hunting the emphasis is all on the two teams pitting their wits against one another. The programme starts with Tim Wonnacott introducing two eager teams, each team is made up of just two members and one team is given red sweatshirts and the other team blue sweatshirts. Each team is then assigned an expert in the world of antiques who will endeavor to help them find something in a local Antique Fair that they will purchase themselves and take to auction in the hope of making a profit. There are a few experts who regularly appear on Bargain Hunt, Phillip Serrell, who is often seen wearing a Rupert bear scarf ! David Barby, Kate Bliss and James Braxton to name ...

Review of Bargain Hunt

The Name Was Hunt, James Hunt

Advantages: A fascinating and intelligent account of the life of a sporting great
Disadvantages: The subject nature will perhaps put off those unfamiliar with Formula 1

noughties. The 70s were politically turbulent, gaudy, vulgar and very difficult, but they were also energetic, abrasive and exciting years, years when things could get done without the need to jump through an assault course of hoops and people could tell others what they really thought of them (within reason) without inviting an immediate thumping by the passive-aggressive heavies of political correctness. Formula 1 in the 70s was as much a reflection of its time as it is now: it was loud, grubby, slightly chaotic, brash and very very dangerous. It also necessarily produced driving stars that were cut from a somewhat rougher cloth than that from which derives many of our sweet-young-things of the present. James Hunt, for those who still have youth on their side, was one of Britain's most famous and talked-about sports stars of the 1970s. He ...
