I bought this for my daughter for Christmas, the main reason being the screen size and multi-region capability. So far I have had no complaints from upstairs.
I've never seen a portable dvd player so can't compare so I'll just mention what I like (lots) and dislike about this machine.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas, the main reason being the screen size and multi-region capability. So far I have had no complaints from upstairs.
I've never seen a portable dvd player so can't compare so I'll just mention what I like (lots) and dislike about this machine.
1. Multi-region out the box.
2. DivX playability. I can (shh) download stuff (I actually often download a TV episode I've ... ...and this machine will play it.
3. Although the instructions say you can play mp3 and jpeg off a usb pendrive or memory card it doesn't say you can play videos. Tried it and it works - wonderful.
4. The screen can be rotated 180 degrees and pushed almost flat back. Nice if you want to hide the base. The screen is 47% bigger than a 7", equivalent from going from a 26" to 32" TV.

1. Multi-region out the box.
2. DivX playability. I can (shh) download stuff (I actually often download a TV episode I've missed or forgotten to record), which is usually an avi and this machine will play it.
5. Remote control. Why? Well you can connect it to a TV and amp.
6. Dolby output. It has a co-ax output so your amp will play in full Dolby. Of course chances are your full sized dvd player will have this anyway.
7. Two headphone sockets and it comes with two pairs of earphones.
8. Car cigarette lighter plug - I don't know if it reaches the back seat yet.
9. You can connect video games players (well anything with av output) to it) so that you can watch TV while daughter plays games (on holiday for instance).
10. When switched off it remembers where you stopped watching a dvd.
11. Will read SD, MMC and Memory sticks. So you can view photos on this rather than on your much smaller camera screen.
12. Will accept a TV tuner.
13. All the usual dvd features like angles, subtitles etc.
I suppose I better find some dislikes.
1. Although my daughter hasn't said anything I've noticed thin lines on the screen. I'm told this is normal and you actually see this kind of thing on a TV if you sit too close.
2. When the dvd player starts up it makes an awful noise as the laser is tracking, but this goes as soon as playback starts.
3. The built in speaker(are a bit tinny - much better to use the earphones.
Although I paid a little more than i wanted for a portable multi-region dvd player I am very happy with this. The only drawback is my daughter doesn't have to get out of bed to change dvds....
Advantages: Easy to handle, light, quick charge, nice look Disadvantages: a little delicate and needs careful handling
I brought this for my 2 year kid and is really a good buy. my kid enjoys it really well.. its very handy and easy to carry, the only problem with it is the cd insert is a little delicate and should be carefull in handling.
best part is that its a multi region player and plays all the formats. its got a very good remote and the charge stands for long.
plays DVD, DivX, XviD, VCD, SVCD, MP3, DVD+R/RW, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, JPEG, Kodak Picture CD . can ...
