Advantages: (+) perfect colour match (+) small (+) sleek packaging (+) blends well with only fingers Disadvantages: (-) hefty price tag but worth it if you have difficulty with foundation shades
For reference: Beige/Warm Beige (MAC - NW20; rosy cheeks, cool + pink undertones, freckles), hazel-brown eyes, dark/light brown hair w/ platinum slices.
I have only ever used three types of foundationstick - Avon, MAC, and Bobbi Brown. Although I love MAC (and Avon was quite good, too) I fancied a change and stuck to my Bobbi Brown foundationstick.
The most significant thing about these is that you can apply the foundation whereever you want - in the smallest of creases, the largest of cheeks, and so on. Okay, so you can pretty much apply foundation anywhere you please using a brush or sponge, but foundationsticks give that little more precision. I am slightly heavy-handed when applying makeup so I love how these don't "spread" all over - they stick to the small area where you applied it.

Avon Ideal Shade Mousse FoundationStick
Some of you may or may not know, from reading some of my other reviews, that I am an Avon representative. Because of this I own loads of Avon products, probably too many! I really love my make up, especially foundations as I never feel too confident until I am sure my skin looks its best.
I've tried many foundations, minerals, liquids, some which I don't even know what on earth they were! But I have to say this handy little stick is very good, so I've decided to write a review about it. Happy reading!
Why Did I buy the Ideal Shade Mousse FoundationStick
My Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation was running out, and I urgently needed a new foundation before there was none left. I do have lots of others, I admit, but there all either too greasy, too orange or too white. I ...
I love this foundation.
I am naturally very pale with oily skin, so I used to have real trouble finding a foundation that kept my skin somewhat matte and came in a shade close enough to my skin tone. No high-street brands ever had a shade pale enough for me (and their quality was debatable anyway) and even MAC didn't have a true match - their pale shades were too beige for me.
Lucky for me, I came across a lady who recommended Shiseidofoundation. Willing to give it a go, I went and found it in Selfridges one Saturday. I bought shade #100 - can't remember the name - because I think it was the first foundation shade I'd tried and it had actually been a good match.
I've been wearing it ever since, and it tends to stay on quite well, too - I wear it from 7am every day and while it doesn't stay looking perfectly applied all day, I ...
