I live in Edinburgh and am interested in a lot of music and recently started a band. I am also really into movies and would like to direct some day.

Picture the scene; it is mid day, you have nothing to do so you turn on cable. You click through the entire line up of channels starting with your favourite which has nothing on it. You go through a cowboy movie where a cowboy and an indian are ducking down, looking anxious, then a fishing show, some new cartoon channel, a couple of talk shows...
By this time you realise nothing is worthwhile watching and a new channel is appearing every half second. You are now passed all of the channels and at the lowest number.
Then Shop! comes up, and, oh, look at that top of the line hi-fi. It looks pretty cool, it has extra features, a super woofer, a screen that not only tells you time and track number, but has moving boxes. Well you think, that's more interesting than mine.
Before you know it you know every thing to know about this £249.99 includin p&p hi-fi. You know it's dimensions, what it looks like without it's speaker covers, what it sounds like with full bass, even though there is no apparent difference.
You will then find yourself really exited into picking up the phone and getting out your credit card.
A week later as you sit at home watching something on tv, a man drops off the package and gets you to sign the slip. As he walks away you sit there setting up your new piece of equipment.
10 minutes later you sit back and enjoy that classical musiccd you got free in a lifestyle magazine and the truth dawns on you;
You already have a hi-fi that isn't too old that could do the job, your cd collection is so small there is no need for such an extravagant piece of equipment and you know you never really use it anyway so it's just going to make the living room nice and your friends jealous.
