Wear to Go
Advantages: Large Selection of shops Disadvantages: Parking a nightmare in busy periods
The White Rose Centre is a medium sized shopping centre on the outskirts of Leeds, the smaller equivalent of Sheffields Meadowhall. I think The White Rose Centre is just the right size and has a good mix of shops. It's opening times changes for the Christmas period with late night opening but at the moment are as follows: Monday 10am - 8pm Tuesday 10am - 8pm Wednesday 10am - 8pm Thursday 10am - 9pm Friday 10am - 8pm Saturday 9am - 7pm Sunday 11am ... ...the south side of Leeds close to the motorway network off junction 28 of the M62. The centre's address is the White Rose Shopping Centre, Dewsbury Road, Leeds, LS11 8LU. At Christmas they have lovely decorations and a massive Christmas tree, which this year is being turned on by Roxanne Pallet, one of the actresses from Emmerdale. This happens on Monday 9th November at 7pm. Santa is also coming to the White Rose and will be here on 9th November - ...

A travesty unfolding...
Advantages: beautiful culture & immense diversity Disadvantages: it is being closed down!
The corn exchange is a brilliant, beautiful place full of diversity, culture and style. There are lots of clothing, wicca, sport and Misc. shops in the cornX. some of my personal favs are:
Grin: a goth/emo/punk clothing shop full of one of a kind accessories and fashonable alturnative clothing. a small shop but with a huge personality.
Hippyporretmouse: a new age goth & wicca shop full of beautiful gowns (especially good for Whitby goth fests.) ... ...characters.
Also, every weekend the ground floor is packed with small market stalls selling everything from had made jewls to pop art canvas'.
Sadly however, few of these incredible shops are left and the market is no-where to be seen...
The fact that some jumped up rich company is turning it into some expensive food market is an absolute outrage! I cannot believe that they are going to destroy the home of many small businesses and one of the ...

Victoria Quarter Master
Advantages: undercover; compact; looks pretty Disadvantages: snobbish; full of bad plastic surgery
...If you've never visited the Victoria Quarter, allow me to enlighten you...
Cool name, yes? Sounds nice, bit posh? You'd be quite right. It's really is posh. It's a sexy marble skating rink, with Harvey Nichols cafe spilling out into the middle. The cafe is full of people who have no concept of 'a coffee' being the same everywhere, and they are snuggled under those ozone-battering patio heaters devouring an afternoon tea that probably cost more than ... ...recognise from the pages of fashion mags, but never if they really existed (like Atlantis)- All Saints, for one. There's Karen Millen and a couple of unpronouncable shoe shops. But basically, it's expensive.
I find it's great if you know what you want and have the means to get it. Otherwise, it's a bit of a battle trying to concel your inner grubby pleb, which until five minutes ago you thought was cool student neo-grunge. This is difficult if you ...

The Marlows Shopping Center
The Marlows shopping Center is situated in the center of Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire and is one of the main shopping centers I tend to go shopping to for both convenience and locality. I would not say that it is one of the best shopping centers by any means, though it hosts a range of over 70 stores and has recently been refurbished on the outside street to add more variety to your shopping trip. Let me explain further…
... ...I tend to visit The Marlows more than anything is the convenience of it being the closest to me, and also a range of shops which sell good products for less money than a lot of other shopping centers. Don't get me wrong, there are a whole range of shops ranging from the really expensive to the really cheap and so you are given a great choice in shops and products. One aspect which tends to annoy me about The Marlows, though, is that the shop turnover ...

Shopping West Yorkshire Style
Advantages: A great fully enclosed shopping centre Disadvantages: no M and S (yet)
...We recently found ourselves on the M62 heading back towards Manchester near Leeds and in need of a long break. Although not totally clear what it was, we saw the brown shopping basket signs and the arrow off the motorway to the White Rose Centre. Within minutes we had gone round a few roundabouts and an entrance to the White Rose Centre was on our left. Not knowing which was the best car park for the site we followed the car in front, which took ... ...a good car park for the disabled as there were a lot of reserved disabled spaces and the entrance to the centre had a large shop mobility office.
A first impression of the White Rose doesn't compare with the Trafford Centre in Manchester or Meadowhall in Sheffield, but this could be because the local road network doesn't allow it to be seen from a distance. Admittedly it isn't as big as these out of town megacentres, but with over 100 retail shops ...
