Ok I do work for this satellite shopping channel! But my opinions are totally unbiased, I work in the call centre, dealing with customer services and hotline orders. Ideal World are the big breakfast type show of home shopping channels. They are not trying to be another QVC or Shop, although they have 3 of QVC's presentors, Steve Watley, Paul Lavers, Debbie Flint. This is a fun channel, they try to make it entertaining, as well as trying to sell you the products, they even offer a 90 money back guarantee on their items if you are not happy. Still in its infancy only launching on 18th April of this year, the show has done very well. A few teething problems occured, but it is settling down to be a fun and different way of shopping. The basic layout is much the same as QVC, and yes some of the products are the same, and of course some of the presenters, but thats where the similarity ends. This is a very off the cuff, ad lib channel, its live and things dont always go to plan, but they get away with it and the viewers seem to like the kooky way its done. One of the great things is the Gary Bushell slot, where new singing acts are showcased live on the show, you can buy a CD of them, before they hit the big time! Anything that raises interest in british talent has to be commended. They also have Tony Blackburn, with gizmos, gadgets and funky music! And Lionel Blair, introducing his line dancing. You can fax the presenters live on air, phone and chat to them, they encourage this, they want feedback from the customers, and they listen to what they say, if the customer wants to see a certain product then they do their best to get it for them! All in all I love working there, and to be honest I never watch shopping channels, they are boring, but this is entertainment! If you have digital satellite try channel 642 and tune in and see what you think for yourself.
