I'll Be Back! to S. Fla's Impressive Mega-Mall

Advantages: Mega choices, lots of parking, lots of exercise
Disadvantages: Not all outlets, Exhaustion (unless you're in great shape)

Sawgrass Mills, South Fla's impressive mega-mall, isn't really an outlet mall. But I like it anyway. Though I live closer to Sawgrass Mills than 99.3% of the US population, it's far enough that I only go once a month or less. You can get great deals in the big stores and get gouged in the kiosks and restaurants. Though too many of its stores are either (1) megastores but not outlets or (2) high-priced kiosks or fast food, I still love the place. ...
...duplicated in Broward County. It has two food courts, a bungee jump, and a movie theatre, with better choices than most malls. In addition to the real outlets (such as Penneys, As Seen On TV, Saks, and Leggs/Hanes), and scads of clothing stores, there are big regular low-price retailers such as Books-A-Million and Brands Mart (our favorites) plus large locations of some conventional stores (like Target). It's within blocks of a number of other great ...

Remembering the good times

Advantages: had lots of stores
Disadvantages: it closed

I remember when Omni was still a mall. I don't know why it's listed here at least as a mall. The mall part of it closed many years ago. It's now a technology center. The motel is still in operation, but under different ownership. It's used now mainly as a bus terminal. For years before the mall closed, it was getting progressively worse. All but one of the department stores had moved out for bigger and better malls. The book store had closed. I think ...
...to The Mall at 163rd Street, although 163rd may still have a chance. (I'll get to that in another review.) It was a good mall. I have many fond memories of it. Unfortunately, all of the good stores seemed to close first, leaving the food court as the only reason to go there. I'm not really sure what happened to it. I think it just outlived its usefulness. Miami is so spread out that a well-placed mall can do well because competition won't draw too ...

So far south

Advantages: Taco Bell, Burger King
Disadvantages: Travel Time

...back in the heat. Dadeland is one of the only remaining mall that is split by one of the major stores. Burdine's splits the mall into an east side and a west side. The only other mall to have done this was Skylake, but that was torn down and rebuilt years ago. There are many stores, some of which I haven't found at any of the other area malls. Every so often, if I am getting bored of the other malls, I'll head down there. If you're going down, maybe ...

One of the few malls I can get to

Advantages: Offers a lot
Disadvantages: Not exactly perfect, but getting there.

I've been going to Aventura Mall for as long as I can remember. Mostly, that's because my mother likes to go there. When I was old enough, I started taking the bus with my friend mostly to find books and stuff. It has a lot of the stores common to most malls such as a book store and the anchors. A few years ago, they completed the new wing of the mall wich included several new restaraunts and a movie theater. I think the theater is one of a few places ...
...well because of Aventura. Aventura is a much nicer mall. The same could be said in comparison of the each mall's movie theater. Also, having sevaral banks on the property helps. When going to a mall, I usually choose Aventura because it has so much to offer. The only thing I think it needs is a post office. ...

Borders and then some

Advantages: Has a book store
Disadvantages: Doesn't have much else

Loehmann's has really fallen victim to Aventura. All they really have now is a Borders, a Publix, and a movie theater, but the theater isn't really that good. The rest of the stores are mostly clothing stores. The thing is that other malls have similar stores. I remember them having a video arcade, but those seem to be disappearing here in America. I remember them having a music store, but I haven't been there in so long, I don't even know if it's ...
...see it. Yes, it's open-air, but for that kind of attraction, you're better off with Bayside. Loehmann's isn't very big. It's probably half the size of the malls in the area in terms of size. Aside from restaurants, I have no real reason to go there. ...
