Advantages we are Legal!

Disadvantages But at the same time we're not...

What is wrong with todays world....?EVERYTHING! They say it is legal for persons of 16 and over are allowed to have sex, but when it comes to seeking help from pharmacies and GPs they look at us in discust. When young teenagers have accidently forgotten to take precautions, like condoms, the Pill, or the Morning after pill they get discriminated. Why? because todays laws suck. We are not legal to drive, vote, or sometimes work but we are allowed to have sex, which is what? the best idea the law has come up with, because now they are dealing with the consequences of underage pregnancies.
What is the law trying to say? Are they trying to say that todays generation are only good enough for concieving babies, getting up the duff if thats a good term to use for todays world. The NHS argue that they are trying their best. How? They are turning away teens that need help. Most chemists, Pharmacies turn down applicants, wanting to take the Morning after pill just because they are 16 and have to be 18 but wait, i thought we were legable to have sex but its not ok to take precautions. They say go to your doctor, some families dont have a family doctor and most of the time most parents dont even know their son/daughter is having sex.
Sometimes most Gps are fully booked to accept appointments even if they are emergency appointments teens try to make. So has the Law really thought about this law they have summoned up. It would be ok if the todays world accepted that yes we can have sex at the age of 16 and also we need to take precautions just like any other person would do over the age of 16.

Interesting read young lady! I think your argument was a good one to promote the age of consent to 18, though I'm not sure it was what you were arguing for. But I think age of consent at some level is crucial (it varies from country to country and even state to state in the US). Remember without an age of consent it would mean that anyone could have sex with a 'child' provided the child didn't object. This would be a disaster. But you raise an interesting perspective on availability of contraception. Pete

Hi, good debate so far, it might be worth spreading you argument out slightly, into clearer paragraphs, it would then be easier to read. kels x
