Most teenage girls will have a favourite magazine which they buy read regularly. Well mine was Mizz until I was about 13, but then I found that I had grown out of that. So Shout was what I started to read next. Similar to Mizz, but a bit more grown up, Shout contains all the usual features of a girls magazine, and is age appropriate making sure it does not upset any parents. Shout is like a teen version of Take A Break magazine, which was the next regular magazine I started to read upon outgrowing Shout. It uses the same idea for competitions, where you send all of your answers in on one form. This saves you money on those expensive competition hotlines. There is a letters page, like the ones found in all magazines, with prizes for the best letters written. Each issue offers a free gift, which are almost always very low quality, but you do occaisionally get something worth having. Gifts are usually makeup or jewellery, for example, a lipgloss, necklace, pot of glitter eyeshadow, or a keyring. The magazine has problem pages, embarassing moments, fashion and beauty sections, celebrity gossip, posters and song lyrics. The problem pages contain dilemmas such as 'my mum won't let me shave my legs' or 'my friends don't invite me out anymore'. The magazine also offers advice on matters such as periods and boyfriends, but does not contain advice about sex because it is not aimed at girls of that age. I can imagine parents would be happier for their daughter to read Shout than many of the other teen mags in the shops.

I remember reading this when I was younger in fact I remember Mizz my fav now is cosmopolitan, never thought I would be into those big grown up mags though but you get soooooooo addicted kel xxx
Advantages: If you have a problem you can get them to write personally back to you. Disadvantages: They never have posters or pics of Eminem and they don't have any REAL horoscopes, the ones in Shout do not tell the future.

Review of Shout magazine
Advantages: good articles for the young lady of today, with nothing too 'grown up', free gift with every issue Disadvantages: mum will probably want to pinch it
