Metrosexuality rocks! Advantages: Tightens Skin, Decent Lather Disadvantages: Expensive, Small Tube ...if they would include the Clarins range of mens grooming products. They did, and this is the first review (Of probably a few) about the range of products they have for the modern, metrosexual male. We all know that in the old days, men never used skin care products. They were far too manly for that, they were all about football and drinking beer and discussing how to fix cars. That's all changed now that we have hit the new Millenium. Advertising ... ...and fits in with the Clarins range of male products well. Simple plastic, tapered tube in white, with nice clear lettering, and a dark blue click close cap. The cap is sturdy (Nothing irritates me more when the cap breaks and you have to rely on the little plug to keep the lid on) and easy to open, even when wet. The perfect body exfoliator Advantages: Melts onto the skin; leaves skin soft and smooth; lovely smell Disadvantages: Expensive ...is a bit dry. The Clarins Toning Body Polisher is one of the best exfoliators I've found and one I wouldn't hesitate to recommend. It's both a sugar and a salt scrub and is packed with essential oils - rosewood, geranium, hazelnut, mint, palm, rosemary and shea - which all work to moisturise the skin, as well as exuding gorgeous smells. It has a really fresh, intense and invigorating smell which really perks you up in the morning - initially it's ... ...(another problem area for me!) Clarins call this a toning body polisher, and my skin certainly does feel a lot more toned after using this, although obviously it's not a miracle worker! It's the perfect thing to use before self tanning, as it's not at all harsh and won't irritate the skin. It comes in a 250g pot with a screw top lid. Definitely Worth the Scrub! Advantages: Refines skin texture, evens out skin and feels invigorating. Disadvantages: Don't use on face or tender parts. Well, first you must know I am not much of a "body scrub" type of person. I have an old wooden bath brush which I use on the rare occasion that I think my back needs scrubbing. I also have a net type puff which I use more often. I have extremely sensitive skin, so I didn't want to scrub myself red or cause skin damage. I was pleasantly surprised by this product! It squeezes out of the tube like toothpaste and is of a very fine grain. I just used ... ...hands with water. This seemed OK. Then I started with the body and rubbed the stuff all over my legs, arms, back and whatever else didn't seem too sensitive. The product stays active for a few minutes and then the grains dissolve. What's left you can just rinse off. I probably spent a total of 5 minutes doing this. This product is nice because some of the scrubs are so thick and feel like they contain rocks or tree parts! Clarins Relax Bath and Shower Concentrate Advantages: Lovely smell and it does helps you relax Disadvantages: A bit pricey ...ache, especially when combined with Clarins Relax Oil. Like all Clarins products it contains natural ingredients including basil (good for nervous system), chamomile (anti-inflammatory & healing plant), orange (good antiseptic and used in aromatherapy), horse chestnut (great for tired legs and prevent varicose veins), thyme, mint (helps to relax), and geranium (soothing properties), St. John's Wort (mouisturiser), hops (stimulant). Clarins Tonic Bath & Shower Concentrate - my review Advantages: Very firming and smoothing Disadvantages: Clinical bitter scent This is a treatment bath/shower gel which contains Rosewood, Geranium, Mint and Rosemary oils, and extracts of Juniper, Balm, Pine, St. John's Wort, Arnica, Gentian and Witch Hazel on a gentle coconut based cleanser. The oils and extracts have been chosen for their stimulating and firming qualities which take effect instantly but also over time by stimulating your circulation which helps with removing toxins and cellulite. I definetly noticed a difference ... ...after several uses and I think it would be great used regularly with a firming cream. I think this is suited to someone who is serious about firming up beause other than this, I didnt find the product enjoyable to use because of the bitter, clinical scent.
