I had never ordered from this company before but am glad I did. The PSU being sold at IT247.com was also the cheapest I could find for that model. Registering on the site was easy and the order confirmation email was quick. Included in the email was the customer support email address, T&Cs, returns policy etc - everything that a good company should have listed.
The IT247.com website is easy to navigate and purchase products. The ShuttlePC55SilentXpowersupply (450watt) arrived on time and as described. It was packed well and had no damage to the outer packaging. The delivery charges are very reasonable when compared to other big name online retailers.
I have added the company to my list of 'price-check' companies when sourcing PC components! ...

Advantages: Modular power connectors, good design, solid build, designed in the UK. Disadvantages: Large
graphics cards and it works well. From the perspective of the powersupply SLi is expensive two graphics cards need twice the amount of power and it is important that anyone wishing to upgrade their computer in the future to this standard have the right powersupply. This is one of the better choices in that respect.
If you look more generally at the device it can be seen that it is of a very high quality. It conforms to many important standards and is of a genuinely high quality. It comes in a little tool box and has lots of connectors. These connectors are excellent for two main reasons, the first being that they are wrapped in shielding and the second being that you can attach or remove as many as you need so there is no need to have a case filled with wires that don't go anywhere. Which means better airflow and therefore a cooler computer ...
Modern PC's are requiring more and more power. Cheap powersupplys simply arent cutting it anymore, and can often cause problems. I recently purchased a Hercules Radeon 9700Pro graphics card (which I have also reviewed on Ciao), and thus I decided to equip my PC with a more capable PSU.

Thermaltake do several lower models, but I felt that the 420w would be a safe bet to cope with my 2 Optical drives, new graphics card, and other hardware. Online reviews of this powersupply were very good, so I was pleased to find the unit lived up to my expectations. I was even more pleased to find that the unit retails for about £40 on dabs.com - much cheaper than equivalent models from Antec or Enermax.
