The remote requires no driver CD or software - simply plug the black infrared receiver into a USB port and your PC recognises it straight away as a "human interface device", just as it does a mouse or keyboard. It has a built in mouse which is really easy to use. There are a number of "hot keys" - these are shortcut buttons which allow you to open windows media player, your web browser, start menu, email, favorites, my computer, it even allows you to turn off your computer at the press of a button!!!!
It works really well with media player - even if media player is running in the background or minimised, the volume can be adjusted at the touch of a button.
I have a Freecom Freeview USB TV adapter for my PC, and the Shuttle remote even works with that i.e. it allows me to change the channels using the numbers on the Shuttle Remotes' keypad.
It's an excellent product and excellent value for money. It's also really comfortable to hold and the button layout is ergonomically well designed as all the buttons are within easy reach.
Since purchasing the remote, two of my friends have seen mine and already bought one for themselves - its that good!
