Shuttle XPC G 5900B - Celeron D 341 2.93 GHz

...I got this in December 2006 and am extremely happy with it. All computers seem pretty much the same to me but the xpc is very compact meaning that I don't even have to put it in the "tower" part of my PC desk but can put it in the top section which I think was meant for DVDs! It looks really funky as the front lights up. It starts up quickly and has all the functionality I could need - including 8 USB ports of which two are on the front making it easy to upload my i-pod/phone details etc and card slots for pretty much every memory card includeing SD and the Sony specific Memory Stick (which I used to have to use a converter for) which makes it ultra easy to use - these are also on the front thus giving ease of access - you just slot the card in and away you go.... ...A lower price laptop from top brand. It uses a celeron processor that is useful for a light user means for a user mainly use it for net surfing office work and playing and recording music movies. Looks are excellent but its bit heavy but no problem if you are looking for an affordable machine. The speed is moderate because it got a fast 2.93ghz processor with a lower bus speed any way its celeron. Ram is quite high but memory speed is moderate 266mhz that makes it an average laptop. No doubt keyboard feels comfortable and well designed. Apart from that machine is loaded with good features like firewire ports, usb 2.0 good for fast data tranfers using usb devices. Laptop is internet ready with eathernet and modem so you can straight way connect to broadband or dial up. In conclusion i can say if you are looking for a machine that will do... Read review

Advantages: Compact, powerful, fairly quiet, stylish
Disadvantages: Quality Control needs improving

...-in-1 card reader for transferring those digital photos/movies straight from the card, and you get 2 years on-site warranty -- amazing considering most electronics companies are loath to give you even a 1 year Return-to-Base type! My point is that this particular XPC (and most other mini-cube PCs) comes with so many useful and useable features as standard that there is virtually no need to have additional space for expanding. In the past, and even with some of the modern mainstream PCs, you'd normally have to go out and buy an "add-on this" and an "add-on that" to make it a more complete system. In fact, despite all the above mentioned gadgets, there is still a spare PCI slot to hand should you need it.
