You start with an unknown world and a couple of characters and you start building one or two ... ...create a few crude warrior people or settlers to ward off your enemies. As you grow, your knowledge increases and you can then build more advanced things like market places and libraries, which increase your trade and knowledge, and therefore allow you to create more advanced armies etc. It's very much a parallel of how real empires have developed - starting with very little, and then developing their knowledge in order to take over the world in ... more

Your knowledge is very limited so you can create a few crude warrior people or settlers to ward off your enemies. It's very addictive once you get the hang of playing it, but it's very much a strategy game rather than the usual sort of silly game you might find on the DS, so I wouldn't expect it to suit someone who only likes things like Cookin Mama or Mario Kart etc. Probably more of an geeky teen / adult game really. It's rated as 12+. I tend to turn the sound off when i play it as it makes no difference to me. The graphics are crude, but then it's more about the game than about stunning visuals. I love it.
