I wish that I hadn't bought this Siemens A55 phone, especially after hearing that people could get them free for buying some anti-wrinkle cream from Avon!
I have the red model.
I bought mine from the Orange shop on the Orange website. It cost me £29.99 with £10 of credit. At that price, as long as it could ring and I could speak to people with it, I wasn't really that bothered about any features.
The phone is a nice size and is very nice to hold. The battery seems to last for days after a full charge. The instruction booklet is as usual, quite thick and boring so I haven't bothered to read it.
After having this phone for six months, I am still struggling to change the settings on it. It isn't very user friendly.
My Mother has this phone too, and I am not surprised that she is struggling with the functions. She used to text me from her old house brick, but doesn't bother anymore since she has had this one.
Functions-SMS, Orange Plus, Phonebook, Set up, Profiles, Ringtones (polyphonicish), Wap,Alarm clock, Call records. Games - Wacko, Move the Box, Balloon Shooter, Stack Attack.
I suppose that you get what you pay for.
Lately, since I wrote this review the phone has started to switch itself off on its own, it is only about four months old . My Mother complained of this fault a while ago and I doubted her judgement and thought that she wasn't using the phone correctly!
My son has one of these too, he rarely uses it, I will update on his here as soon as he starts using it again.
UPDATE ~~~~~~~~ My 11 year old son gave his away last year. I put mine in the bin. My mother is still using hers, it is functioning well for her but she still hasn't learned how to use it properly as it really isn't user friendly.
