Let me start by saying I'm an extremely demanding guy when it comes to photography. This time, although I didn't have enough money to buy a second, very expensive, Nikon body to use with my existing Nikon lenses (D1x comes to mind to add to my F5 - sigh), I wanted something I could control well, took good pictures and wasn't terribly expensive.
I certainly had all of these with the A70. By now I'm sure you know all about most features, at least the most obvious ones. If not, read other reviews. I'm here to tell you about the real stuff most reviewers don't tell you about.

I bought my A70 specifically because I was having a baby and wanted a quality digital camera. I found it to be really useful with taking pictures of my little one because you can take the flash off and yet the picture will still come out clear. However, since messing around with it I have found that by far the best feature is the macro option and I have taken some fantastic close up shots which I have had blown up to poster size and had framed on my walls. All my friends and family think the pictures are amazing. So not only is it an easy camera to use with a clear and useful user booklet, it produces pictures that even a professional would be proud of!! Just one slight negative and that is that sometimes there can be a slight delay in taking the picture while it focuses, this isn't normally a problem unless you are taking an action ...
