My Savvy died on me beep beep it went and waved goodbye with it’s little pixilated hand, it’s enough to bring a tear to my eye…. Actually the charger was broken and the nice lady at the mobile phone shop is fixing for me right now, woe betide them if they don’t get it right, I’ll be writing a stiff review and then they’ll be sorry, Consumer Power!!! (Actually since they took the phone and since I wrote this first paragraph I got a phone call, it seems there is a problem with the repair, I can already feel my bile rising…..)
So to prove just how nice the lady was she gave me a Siemens C25 to love in the place of my Savvy, I wasn’t actually too impressed to be honest, it looked boxy and a bit plastic, not as nice as my blue Savvy. But it was very light and to be honest its not actually a bad phone. So here is what it does
· It has dual band operation which apparently means the phone can operate in foriegn countries using the back up frequency, the operating frequencies are 900 MHz and 1800 MHz
· Dimensions: (L x W x H) 117 x 47 x 27 mm
· Weight: 135 g including battery
· Standby time is claimed to give up to 160 hours, in reality I’d say this is much shorter
· Again the same story, it claims a talk time of up to 300 min, this is in fact much shorter. I’d say though that I am using a shop model so the battery could be a bit dodgy the battery is a standard Battery: 700 mAh / NiMH
· Display comprises a three line illuminated display; a menu bar (rocker switch) allows you to navigate the menu. With time this becomes a pretty simple task but it is nowhere near as intuitive as the Savvy, still the Savvy was aimed at a teen market so it had to be simple.
· The Phone Book holds up to 250 entries (dependent on SIM-card) + 8 VIP entries in unit, the VIP numbers allow you to speed dial. In practice they get in the way of using the address book
· The C25 boasts 20 ringer tones with one self-composable ringer tone, the different tones can be assigned to the VIP numbers. Handy for when you want to ignore the office but are just too lazy to pick up the phone.
· Texting with up to 160 characters, pretty straightforward, the keypad has quite a nice feel to it but you do need to sharpen the end of fingers to make them fit the keys. I never thought I had sausages for fingers (I have artists hands dontcha know) but it can be quite tricky to use the pad.
· The key has a key lock, which is something the Savvy doesn’t have. This although its simple and I suspect very commonplace is dead useful. The number of times I’ve accidentally phoned somebody and wasted my card I can’t begin to count. A simple feature like this makes it very easy to avoid such accidents, it also means you don’t have to worry about a carry case unless you want to protect the phone, personally I couldn’t give a monkeys about the C25 I have because it’s going back to the shop.
So in conclusion is it a good phone?? Yes I suppose it is, it looks a bit dull and plasticcy but it is functional and relatively easy to use. It doesn’t have too many add-ons but at the end of the day if you want to play games you should be using a gameboy not your mobile. I still prefer my Savvy though.

...the Fiddly Ericsson and the Siemens which cant be described any other way from boring. Well this is a complete exception. The C25 isn’t boring in any shape or form. I bought the C25 because it looks such a fun phone at a reasonable price.
I first owned a Siemens S6 which is a brick. I owned the S6 about 2-3 year ago and proved trouble free. I choose siemens as it was recommended by carphone warehouse and all the phones were the same back then.
... ...value for money like most Siemens models. Battery wise the phone scores nowhere as near to the Nokia 402 but performs to an acceptable standard. I’m a medium user of the phone as this is a 2nd phone for me. It will need charging evenly 2 days 3 if your lucky and each full charge will last 2 to 3 hours.
Reception Quality is not bad at all as good as any Nokia model I have used including the Nokia 3330.Call quality is another good point to this ...

The symbols are in very different places, however the letters available for each key are displayed ta the bottom of the screen e.g. for the number 3 key you will see D E F 3. This is useful if you forget where the symbols are kept. The messages are stored in date order. 20 received messages can be kept if you are with vodaphone, only 10 if you are with Orange. Advantages: small, call quality (on vodafone) menu system Disadvantages: basic functions
THIS is a phone more suited to pay as you go more than to monthly subscription as it is a more 'basic' phone. Monthly subscription allows you to subsidise a more lavish phone.
Having said that, if you are looking for a cheap pay as you go phone, this phone offers a very small hand print for the money, built around it's tiny battery. Other phones around this price point tend to be much larger 'bricks'. Talk time is a impressive 5 hours though in ... ...standby is a solid 4 days (so if you power down at night the phone will last a week. Charging is very slow though, takes around 4-6 hours with the phone on.
Reception on Vodafone is impressively good, transmission and reception are similar to land line phones - the receiver isn't aware it's a mobile. Can't say the same for other networks though, but Cellnet should be good too. Compared to what? well compared to Motorola Starac 70, 130, V3688, A3038, ...

...and it's big brother the Siemens C35. However when it comes to standby time it offers a pitiful 100 hours which is the lowest that I have ever seen from a phone apart from Motorola's M3788e which offers 100 hours also, but we must remember that the M3788e is just 30-00 and the Siemens C25 is 80-00.
As I mentioned earlier the Siemens C25 is light at just 135g. As is standard with all phones it will store 99 names and numbers in it's memory. A very ... ...it's ringtones are actually specially composed by a host of top DJ's, which is a major coup for this phone. You can also compose your own.
As for network compatability, this phone is available on Vodafone and Orange. It's not available on Virgin and i've not seen it anywhere on BTCellnet or One 2 One so your slightly limited as to your choices on this phone.
Overall you have a very stylish and funky phone here and I wouldn't worry too much about ...

Advantages: It's small, light weight and nice looking. You can also write your own ring tones onto it! Disadvantages: No games, and hasn't got a changable fascia. But that's it!
If you want a lightweight, groovy phone that comes in a range of colours, then this one's for you. The Siemans C25 is a great little phone, which although is small has a large screen and it's buttons are still easy to manage. There are 20 ring tones on it, but if you're not satisfied with that, you can write your own! It's best if you know a bit of music beforehand, though. I currently have The Simpsons' theme tune on mine. Although this phone is ...

Advantages: quick charging Disadvantages: slow first charge
When you buy a siemensc25 phone i thought that the charger would not be in the price that i paid because it was very cheap a lot cheaper than most of the other options that were available at the time
I ordered my phone directly off of the vodafone internet site it took 2 working days to arrive. I thought that it was a very prompt service
when it arrived I opened the parcel and to my delight ooh a charger included in the price.I read all about the phone and then pluged the phone in to charge you can even use the phone whilst it is charging
The only bad part about it is that they reccomend that you charge the phone for 8 hours the first couple of times you use it from then on it gets better on average when the phone is completely run down it only takes an hour to charge up fully it is a brilliant fool proof charger. ...
Advantages: small and 'free' Disadvantages: small battery cannot support long standby and talktimes
is technically due to the fact they wanted to make the battery very slim. It's half the industry standard these days.
Call quality can be very good in a strong signal area but doesn't really cut the mustard in a poor signal area, really broken up and doesn't make the most of a weak signal. SiemensC25 works well even with 1 bar signal strength.
The vibration alert function is nice but quite weak, again perhaps another consequence from making the phone so small.
The fact that most phone companies are giving this away free on monthly rental makes this a good deal, as with the 'micro sized' Nokia equalvalents you still have to shell out quite a bit in cash as you do with Motorola flips. Basically you can have hi-tech ultra small, hi spec, phone for free or not much cash these days, and that's good news ...isn't it? I wonder if it ...
Advantages: ease of use Disadvantages: no great advances
That title should get me a lot of reads as the 3210 is most popular phone on the street, though the SiemensC25 did manage, through extensive promotion, to top some months sales charts when both were new to the market.
This is a phone that just upon introduction provided a number of unique features, but the mobile phone market moves so quickly that where Nokia lead others soon catch up.
The Nokia 3210 was the first mass market mobile to provide predictive text - this means that the phone's "brain" will try to guess the word you are trying to send as part of a text message.
If you are a good speller and use dictionary standard words this is fine. However so many words we use in text messaging are slang (eg wassup must rank highly in SMSs at present) and therefore the advantages of this "brain" are negated by having to manually ...
