For those of you that may have read my opinion on the Ericsson A1018s mobile phone, I have now traded in 'the brick' and purchased a brand new, state of the art Siemens C45.
The phone is small (4" x 1.5"), don’t know what that is in new money!. Currently I am connected to the Vodaphone network and have so far found the reception to be of extremely good quality.
The 'standby' time for the C45 is 300 hours, with a talk time of 200 minutes. Three games are built into the phone, although it's not a good idea to play these, as they are very addictive!!
WAP is also included with this phone, although I personally have found it very difficult to use. Perhaps more helpful instructions regarding WAP access could have been included with the phone.
Another downside is that perhaps the buttons are a little too close together which makes life difficult when attempting to access some of the menu files, particularly if the phone is used in it's optional leather case.
The phones' display is very clear. Set-up of the phone is very straightforward, even for a nitwit like myself!
Included in my particular package, along with the leather case, was a hands free kit. This is available also as an optional extra. This personally is the most important consideration when purchasing a new phone. The earpiece fits very comfortably and again, the reception and audio quality is exceptional.
The phone Siemens C45 is availble from most phone shops and is priced at around £100.

Advantages: Sturdy and Robust - I have dropped it multiple times and it has stayed intact Disadvantages: Controls are very confusing - the buttons mean different things at each menu
