Advantages: Polyphonics ringtones. Lightweight. Compact Disadvantages: Short tones missed due to half second fade up
...polyphonic ver of the traditional da-da-daaaa-da-da-da--da-da-da)
Yes i do think this is the best phone around (if you don't want colour or photos), and no i am not linked to siemens in anyway. I just appreciate good design.

Main features **Polyphonic ringtones - Proper sounds, not just beeps. std sounds are a cat, a duck and an ambulance. It sounds like one is actually outside! (amongst lots of tunes) Far less annoying in public than those pearcing beeps. **Recording facility - Record your own sounds. You can even set it up so the ring tone is the actual voice of the person calling **Groups - Allows any number of people to be assigned a ring tone or send one text to many people (friends/Family/Partner etc) **Multi settings vibra-alert. Various patterns for vibration can be selected. MMMmmmm vibration! **Current date and time can be on display on the front screen **Uses GPRS data transfer - in normal terms, sends texts/fax/data etc v.fast if network supports it (Vodaphone does) **WAP internet access - Dont use myself, but its a feature. **Text messages - T9 predictive text, with personal dictionary so you can add unknown names etc, can send graphics and sound to other compatible sets (not just C55) **Credible games - old school remember prince of Persia? **Handsfree calls without car kit. **Babysitter protection so you can limit outgoing calls **Voicedialing - i personally don't want to walk down the street shouting names at my phone, but it's a feature. **Appointments / Alarm clock. I have the alarm set on the "Slow Blues " ringtune, a nice gentle wakeup as opposed to shock awake. **Calculator **Currency Convertor - For those Euro conversions on a beer run to mainland Europe! **Screen "saver" have your own graphic all the time or just when the phone is not in use. **Text message delivery reports (if network supports it. so that's all but O2 then) **Changeable covers - Handy if your clumsy and scratch the screen
Plus all the usual mobile phone features (hide i.d. from other callers etc)
A very user-friendly keypad, a vast improvement from the cluttered C45.
Synopsis: A v.compact v.lightwieght phone with excellent call clarity with doody ringtones. (forgive the use of the word doody, but they are!!!) To sample what a polyphonic phone is visit the my-siemens web site. The only downside with this phone is that the first half a second of a tone fades up whether you want it to or not, so a short tone for an incoming text message is no good, although there are a couple of tones supplied that are good for text that don't go on too long (including a polyphonic ver of the traditional da-da-daaaa-da-da-da--da-da-da)

Advantages: Lightweight, cheap Disadvantages: Dated, lacking modern features
Working for a branch of Siemens, I get to play with all the different phones, including some that are never released in Britain. The C55 along with the SL55 (the review for which can be found here - http://www.ciao.co.uk/Siemens_SL55__Review_5368709) are the phones that I mainly use, and for good reasons.
The C55, is a fully functional little phone, with many of the more advanced features such as polyphonic ringtones and GPRS WAP, all for a small ... ...noticed you can get one of these beauties for as little as £60.
The phone comes with two reasonably good games (Galaxy Hero and Prince of Persia) and it is possible to download more through Java technology.
It also comes with 30 polyphonic ringtones (although for some reason 5 of these are of the noises that different animals make - just incase you ever wanted to be notified of a call by the sound of a duck quacking!?!), and even has an inbuilt ...

Advantages: Small, light, neat and very user friendly. Disadvantages: you need 'OK' eyesight to send text messages.
I've had a Siemans phone for a while now (C35i) and due to good past experiences, invested in the C55 six months ago. The C55 is a practical and user friendly phone with no unnecessary frills, yet with all you could expect from a good quality mobile. The phone is small (but not too small!) which easily and discreetly fits into your jeans pocket or bag. There is a vast sellection of useful bits and bobs, such as vibration alerts (a choice of different ... ...ring tones should you want to, and a few funky little games to pass the time on the bus.
I have found that this phone is great to use for all my practical things including, alerts, callender, internet (GPRS too) alarm clock, phone book, SMS, email etc. You might say, 'yea right, all phones do that!' ...true, but maybe not all with so much style. This phone doesn't need to 'fold up' into a 'match box' size or put the kettle on for you to be good. ...

Advantages: Fits in your pocket Disadvantages: Way too small to use
Having previously been a Nokia advocate with all of my previous mobile phones, I was eagerly anticipating a change when I received the C55 as a company phone.
Oh dear - what a let down. I'm not quite sure where to start. The phone itself is compact and easy to carry, but then everything on it is compact as well. Unless you have needles for fingers, you find yourself hitting three buttons at a time, every time you try to dial or text.
The menu is ... ...I thought this might just be down to being different, but 5 months in, and I still can't use the thing!!!
I have somehow managed to connect to the Web on at least three occasions without knowing how, and have still not been able to figure out how to gte a straightforward speed dial number added in (without a # after it).
And lets not even go onto the hand free car kit. At a distance of 2-3 feet away, the phone suddenly becomes minute, and an absolute ...

All in all a good phone. It appears to be of an average durability, but is a good example of 'qualität auf Deutchland' as it is made before Siemens sold out (litteraly) to the French Benq. ...

Advantages: This phone ir small, cool designed case and keyboard, also the keys are very small, colouring illumination, have 4 leds on the left and right side Disadvantages: The phone LCD screen is very sensitive for hits more limitation pass over
This information i have been pasted from my own written siemens m55 review, because siemensc62 and m55 are very like and they are have some differences that i have cutted.
This phone has normal size and color screen. With this phone we can select two menus (bar and zoom). Zoom is also better.

Advantages: Loads of features, Plugged into Pc for easy file transfer Disadvantages: Sub-par screen compaired to newer phones
...from getting my Siemens S55, I still speak very highly of it and would recommend it to anyone,
I recieved it as a contract phone from O2 online which is different for me because My last 2 phones were pay+go, I picked it out of a selected bunch because of 2 reasons, The First being its good looks, and Second, the reliability of my previous siemens phones (C35 A55)
Design - compaired to previous siemens phones, it now has solid buttons rather than rubber ones which make it far easier to type text messages and play games etc... It is very light and fits nicely in your hand without being to small.
Features - It has been kept similar in design to previous siemens phones, has all their features and more. There is a new filesystem where you can plug it into a pc and send files to your phone like a mini computer, this comes in use if ...

Manufacturer's product description
Be amazed - the C55 sounds different! It amazes with an innovative sound concept: polyphonic ring tones in a high quality, you won't know: radio or phone? It's also possible to record or download voices, noises, and melodies and use them as ring tones. Record the voice of your child, your best friend or even your dog's barking - a new dimension in personalization. And the best part: you can link the sound to a specific caller. If your boss sounds like a turkey, your girlfriend like a siren, just make up a funny ring tone. But that's not the only way to memorize your friends: you can also download a funny image or animation and add it to your directory. This calling image will show up on the display, whenever the person is on the line. Group calls or group SMS help you to stay in touch with all your friends and even make new ones. Extra long messages are naturally available. The C55 technology satisfies every need. Java Wireless Technology and GPRS enable fast data transfer, Internet surfing and fast downloads of all the applications you like and need, as well as cool games. With the "Magic Buttons" all functions are within your reach, only one click away. The C55 is designed to impress: soft curves, a smooth and easy to handle keypad, and CLIPit covers in new inspiring colors. CLIPit covers are available as accessories and a great choice of true eye catchers! Just pick your favorite color to suit your taste!
