For those that don't know how an induction hob works here is a brief explanation. The element under the ceramic is in fact a large electro magnet which when switched on will cause the base of the pan to heat up (The pan needs to be ferrous or have a ferrous bottom which is not a problem as most good pans have this). ... ...of the pan, this means the ceramic top keeps cool, and any spills will not burn on the ceramic. As nothing will burn on the hob this makes for very easy cleaning, a quick wipe over will do. The speed of the hob is very fast and will heat a pan faster than both gas and conventional electric. i purchased a Siemens induction hob two years and I am delighted with the performance and efficiency of the product, the controllability is as good as gas whilst being more economical, as far as I am concerned, this is the cooking device of the fiuture.

Advantages: Easy to clean - cooks quickly - very easy to use Disadvantages: Needed the correct pans but luckly these came free with the hob.
I decided I would like a hob and as I was changing my kitchen decided to go for an electric hob (after using gas for nearly 30yrs) Induction seemed the best option due to its cheaper cooking costs and quicker response. I can honestly say this is the best appliance I've ever purchased.
