I brought the M35i last summer, almost as soon as it had been made available on Virgin Mobile. I was upgrading my then Philips Savvy to something a little newer.
The first thing that appealed to me, was it's looks. The M35i is a gorgeous little phone. It is apparently shock and water and dust resistant. Making claims like that is fine, cos it's not as if anyone is going to test them! Seriously though, I go to a boarding school and it's survived 2 terms of relatively major day-to-day abuse. Although all my mates phones have to be honest, except a Nokia 8210... It certainly feels the part - heavy, 'rubberised', and it has a solid feel unlike some relatively small phones.
The M35i allows you to program in your own ring tune, although only one user created tune can be stored at anyone time. Programming these is rather time consuming, as you can not just send them over your network. You can change opperator logos, although you will need a data cable, costing about £20 from online retailers.
You have access to WAP, a very cut-down version of the internet. If you know what you're looking for, it's very useful. You can read and write emails and check on footy scores, anything you want. The phone has an internal phone book able to hold 100 names. There are 2 phone books, the main one and the 'VIP' phonebook accessable by pressing the phone book button twice, useful for the numbers you call more often.
On the downside my phone shipped with software version 5. The problem with this version, is for the first few months the phone is liable to switch off for no apparent reason. As time goes on, shut downs became less frequent, and my phone hasn't had one for months. Most M35's now ship with version 12, an updated version without this bug. Another annoying thing is inserting and removing the SIM, a very fiddley affair. It requires inserting the SIM into a little red plastic holder which slides into a gap by the battery. Although in amm honesty, how many times a week are you going to change SIM cards?
All in all, a fantastic phone with much more going for it, than against it.

Advantages: WAP enabled, Great features list, Good price, Water/shock resistant, Lightweight, Good battery times Disadvantages: Too many features! May take some time to learn them all.

Advantages: Sturdy, built in aerial, good features, WAP, good sound quality. Disadvantages: Keylock can not always stop keys from being pressed and the power button is a bit small.
