The M35i is a compact, fully featured, WAP enabled phone from Siemens. Available on Virgin Mobile for approx £90, it represents excellent value for money when you consider that Virgin operate a Pay As You Talk system as opposed to contract (although monthly billing is available).
The phone could not be of better dimensions. Small, yet slightly chunky, it is neither too large nor too small and light. Lots of people ask me how I think a phone can be too small and light, but its no good if you lose it in the bottom of your pocket all the time and this phone is perfect for size and weight. It is also shock, dust and water resistant, and that is not just marketing hype. I have dropped this phone a number of times (once into a full sink) and it just keeps bouncing back! I don't recommend doing any of this on purpose, but feel safe in the knowledge that this is one hell of a strong phone.
The features are excellent. Predictive text input, picture messages to other Siemens '35' series phones (with some great pictures), ring tone composer, fully featured WAP browser, 4 games (wayout, minesweeper, reversi and quattropoli – Connect 4 basically), stopwatch, very good alarm function with options which enable you to have an alarm going off at any particular time or on a calendar basis (daily, weekly, monthly), countdown timer, 100 place phonebook, VIP phonebook, etc…
The menu system of the phone is very nice, enabling easy navigation throughout. The softkeys are also another great feature, and their function is always displayed immediately above them. You can set the function of the softkey on some screens although the standard setup is best. It also has some quirky features not seen on other phones, such as the ability to make small cartoon faces which display on the screen when a particular person in your phonebook rings you. The phone also has another nice feature when you are calling international numbers. It has a list of the + codes for each country, organised in alphabetical order by country name.
The only disadvantage I could find to this phone is that there are so many features, it may take you a lot of time playing with the phone to find everything. You know you have a great phone though when you find 'new' features almost 6 months after buying it! This problem can be erradicated by reading the very thourough manual. However, another excellent feature relating to this is the 'help' function on the phone which brings up a help screen telling you how to use the phone (similar to online help on a computer)
This is one of the best (if not the best in my opinion) phones I have ever had the privilege of using. If you are wanting a WAP enabled phone with a whole host of other great features then I seriously recommend purchasing this. Siemens have a reputation for making very high quality phones, and this is certainly no exception.

Good op, I have a C35i which is very similar in features and agree that Siemens phones are great. Its nice to have a phone everyone admires that is different from the latest nokia that everyone seems to have (i.e 3310 now, 3210 before, 5110 before that etc.) Nice one! sam.

Advantages: Sturdy, built in aerial, good features, WAP, good sound quality. Disadvantages: Keylock can not always stop keys from being pressed and the power button is a bit small.
