I came late to the world of mobile phones - I always felt contract phones were too expensive for the limited use I would have for them, and it was only when I got a free phone from a credit card company that I found their uses.
That phone was a basic SAGEM phone, which I replaced just over a year ago with the WAP enabled Siemens M35i
I must admit I havent used the phones full functionality, even now - the WAP system takes a little getting used to, and without free WAP minutes from the service provider, puts you off exploring and understanding WAP.
In any event, the small screen means that very few pages can easily be read.
The Texting system, unless you are used to it can be very confusing and annoying - it uses the auto text function and therefore guesses at the words you want to type. Being an old fuddy duddy (in the fast moving technlogy world, anyway) of 40, I gave up and removed the auto text function. This means it takes longer to type things, but in my eyes, is easier to cope with.
The address book for the phone is easily accessible, being a key on the top left of the phone, as is the Voicemail function, located just below this key.
The Keypad lock is straightforward, although I have found it slightly annoying that you cant stop a Text Message Notification tune, if you have the key lock on.(you can answer voice calls without difficulty)
Overall, I think the phone is fair value for money, being a reasonable introduction to WAP phones, albeit slightly limited due to the small screen.
Younger people will, no doubt, use all its functions. Older people may struggle to get their head round the various functions and, therefore, tend to use the phone in a slightly "tunnel vision" way.

Advantages: Sturdy, built in aerial, good features, WAP, good sound quality. Disadvantages: Keylock can not always stop keys from being pressed and the power button is a bit small.
