Advantages: small, compact and mine's orange! Disadvantages: no camera, crap games, fiddly keys

Rubber keys rather than plastic would be good too - the keys are so small on this phone that it makes it difficult in the extreme when you can't dig a nail into one to press it. Another annoying thing about the keys is that the directional keys are all on one pad that needs to be pressed in the direction you want to go, this is hard to with rigid keys. A good thing about the keys is that the numbers/letters glow red when you press them, so they can be seen in the dark.
Changeable covers would also be a bonus - apparently you can get them but i've never seen any covers for a M55.......My version of this phone is quite orange - with all the keys and the earphone in that colour and the rest is grey; the one shown is black so maybe that's the result of a fascia? I don't know but I do think my orange and grey version is more fun!
Also some good games, is that too much to ask?.....though the create your own ringtone game is kinda fun, even if they never do sound the way you want them too (if you know a friend with this phone, nick it, make up a random CRAP tune and set it as their ringtone - it's funny! though i didn't think so when a mate did it to me...). Of course as the the phone is WAP enabled this does give you the opportunity to download some GOOD games so don't despair, and even though the phone is not a Nokia (as thus misses out on the variety of games/wallpapers/tunes you can download there is a small but good selection out there for a price).
Okay, now to the good things about this mobile!
The things to like about this phone:
~is the size (small) - it manges to fit perfectly into a jeans jacket front buttony type pocket and will fit in even a really dinky handbag for all you ladies out there! Though I will admit that the small size could be a definite problem if you've got large hands or large fingers - it will be very difficult for you to press the correct keys singulary!
~the colour screen - as good as a laptop screen and very clear and the screen is not too small either. There is a nice collection of images (wallpaper/logos) on the phone that are clearly seen on the screen. The menu is also quite cool, with a choice of 9 icons to click on, the most useful is of course the phone book which also allows you to input addresses and birthdays. There is also a notepad and a calendar and also for those who wish to blackmail or take the piss a dictating machine.
~the WAP is useful for the obvious reasons and also as it hooks up nicely to Yahoo! I haven't had any problems with the WAP on this phone.
~the fact that you can put in quick dial numbers - which saves you the hassle of trawling through your phonebook. The 10 numbers on the phone can not only be keyed into phone numbers but also to other functions of the phone - I have my 10 numbers set for Voicemail, Phone Home, Calendar, Games, SMS messaging, Missed Calls, Calls Recieved, Alarm Clock and Calculator.
Another cool thing about the phone is that it has 4 red flashing lights (2 on each side) which you can set to flash in different patterns for different functions - i get a fast flash for no signal, slow flash for a text message/voicemail/call recieved, a weird lights-on-an-airport-runway flash when the phone is busy downloading or on call and a regular flash for normal. This is great for when the phone is on silent/no vibrate or when you've lost it in the dark. And if it annoys you, you have to ability to set it for No Flash!
It's a reliable phone which has a signal in some places where no-one else has one (my friends hate me because of that, sob!) and that not many people possess, so you can feel like a real individual.
You can also drop it off a 2nd floor balcony without too much damage to the phone and not imparing it's functions at all (found this advantage out purely by accident, i haven't tried the alcohol immersion test yet, though, so i'll let you know about that one).
I don't mind it at all, but next time I think I'll fork out the extra 80 quid and get the one with the camera!
Advantages: can be used as a data modem Disadvantages: bad buttons, can't change the case, short battery life, small memory, slow processing
I have been using a Siemens M55 mobile phone for over 3 years. It was my first cell phone but I can easily say I was not able to get what I expected from it.
You can never know the disadvantages of a product if you don't use another and compare. After using another phone I saw that Siemens M55 has many disadvantages and doesn't worth the money you would pay for it.
It doesn't have any free communication options such as bluetooth or infrared. You ... ...I think there are much better choices for the same price. Siemens And when compared to other phones, message sending and other functions are not kept as easiest.
It has a very small storage capacity (2MB) and you can't add any memories.
M55 is not the right one really. ...

Buying the Siemens M55 was my first departure from the Nokia camp and I've never looked back. The handset itself looks distinctive and well designed and compact. It does feature some annoying 'dynamic lights' which flash whenever you receive a call or message, but thankfully you can turn these off (though I suppose they have their uses - i.e. in the dark / at a disco!!). The battery life is a welcome improvement on my old Nokia 3310 - I can go the ... ...had any reception problems. It's a shame the camera facility isn't integrated - I haven't bothered to buy the necessary attachment (it doesn't come as standard) as they're relatively expensive and actually not that easy to track down, but if you're not bothered about taking photographs, this phone has plenty of novel features to keep you happy - a dictaphone recorder, currency converter, global time function as well as all the more usual functions ...

Advantages: colour screen, nice games, lots of features Disadvantages: battery discharges in 2-3 days, ugly ringtones
I've had my siemens m55 for about 3 and a half months now. When I first bought it, I checked a catalogue to see where it stands: it was a pretty good rating, 8th out of 400 or so.
Pro's: -a lot of applications, you can even get lost in the menus (that's not always good); -the phone book is very good (you have 20 fields to edit for every name; by adding a picture to a name, next time you receive a call from that person his/hers picture pops up on ... ...backgrounds, and there is an option to put a picture as a screensaver or logo
-the filesystem is really great: you can move, rename, delete files just like on a computer
-it comes with MMS, WAP, GPRS, e-mail module and for SMS it has text modules (pre-set messages); also you can send SMS to groups
-a lot of customizing can be done in the profile section regarding the ringtones, screen brightness, volume vibration and other misc things
-the LED's ...

Advantages: small , colour screen, java games Disadvantages: camera not built in, ringtone not loud enough
This is a great little mobile with java games and colour screen and loads of polyphonic ringtones and a ringtone composer. this phone is let down by its some what quiet ringtone. Advantages: easy to use, cool features, takes quiet good photos Disadvantages: the size is bigger than it should be
I have been using a Nokia 6630 mobile phone for about one month and I am very satisfied with it. It feels like using a computer when you are using it. There are many useful functions and it brings the functions of a computer, camera, cell phone together.
Since it is cheaper than much newer models, It is now an economic solution for most of your needs. Maybe It doesn\'t detect wireless internet connections but I think it is the only thing missing for that device. You can still surf on the web via GPRS. The visuality of the software is also very good I think. Well, It might be looking like some other Nokia models but I just wanted to mention that because I bought my 6630 after using a SiemensM55 for 3 years and I just felt the difference.
Taking photos with your 6630 is another enjoyable activity really :) since its camera is ...

Advantages: Quality, Software, Functionality Disadvantages: Button Design has bad ergonomics
i'm a bit of a mobile phone buff, i've been known to change my mobile every 6 months to ensure i get the best of my current 'feature of the year' or what have you. so i think i have some merit in giving this opion, and hope its of use to you.
i previously had a panasonic gd87 - my first camera phone. i bought that one based on the verdict that it had the best camera/screen combo at the time (see my review on this site). the problem was, that panasonic just didn't have user friendly software. it was impossible to easily manage your phonebook, and it was a real pain texting - you'd end up having to delete an entire word because the t9 didn't work well.
so i decided to change, and change i did - to using a brand new siemens s55. i've had this for a good 5 months now (new change impending ;-) and this review is based on that 5 month ...
