We bought this to replace the Bosch that went back for poor drying as this was essentially the same dishwasher but with some extra programmes and hot air drying rather than just residual drying like the Bosch. We were extremely dissapointed to find that despite being £70 more expensive the Siemens did not clean or rinse as well as the Bosch. We were back in the same situation as we had been with our old Indesit of having to hand wash items because they were covered in dirty residue. The only program that cleaned anything effectively was the intensive wash and not even that coped with casserole dishes or baking sheets, although it was the only program that did not leave the dirty residue. The auto sensing program was not worth putting on as only the most lightly soiled items came out clean and they could often come out more dirty than when they went in due to the dirty residues that I mentioned. Glasses that had only had drinks in them came out with the interior covered in food as if they had been immersed in very dirty washing up water and left on the drainer. Ironically these food residues were often the only parts of the dishes that were dry and these were dry to the point of having to be soaked and washed by hand later. The hot air drying gave, if anything, a poorer drying result than residual drying on other machines. Again the dishwasher went back under a no quibble return policy. I can only presume that the extra £70 went on the fingerprint free silver finish and aquastop. It was also just as loud as my old indesit, which incidently was £220 cheaper. We really did give both this and the Bosch a fair go we used all the programmes on both machines and loaded them with a variety of items with a variety of soil levels. We also varied where in the racks we placed things and which rack we placed them on. No combination gave good cleaning, rinsing or drying results on the Siemens. In both cases the machines were checked by engineers and found to be without fault. Definitely not worth the money.

Well I wouldn't want one of these! I'm surprised the hot-air drying doesn't help at all. When are they going to change the design of dishwashers and solve this!!
