What can I say about this phone? I bought one for myself just before Christmas because I had always wanted the SL55 but felt it was too small and dinky to press buttons etc. This larger version of that phone is a lot easier to use due to a larger screen and larger buttons on the keypad.
It also incorporates a camera capable of taking still images or 30 second video clips. It's not a bad camera, but there are better ones out there if you take the time to look around.
Other features include a sound recorder, so that you can record songs and noises and set them as ringtones, and the other usuals, calculator, stopwatch, alarm clock etc.
The Siemens SL65 comes standard with three games, which are: Bubble Boost (a platform game a bit like rayman), Golf Pro 3D and Siemens Rally all of which can be quite addictive if you start playing them. It also comes with some applications, Download Assistant (a program that searches the WAP internet for content for your phone), Fit & Mobile (an exercise program), Life Manager (a program that lets you set reminders for yourself), Mobile Safe (you can put PIN numbers in there etc), My-photos-online (you can send your photos to Siemens website), and Photo Editor ( which does exactly what it says on the tin).
The phone also has a calendar feature as well as a dictaphone to help you remember those all important dates!
The WAP internet function is quite good, I have found it to be faster than my old phone and easier to use as well. To start the internet you just need to press one of the soft keys when it is on the main screen (no scrolling down huge menus).
Now onto the problems, I found that if you have saved a few video clips, the video function can be a bit unreliable to say the least. I found that it wouldn't open my clips and when trying to record it would stop at random times. The only way to remedy that was to switch the phone off and back on again which is impossible in itself. I must have held the off button for at least a minute a few times before it decided to turn off and it can be very slow at turning back on. The battery needs to be charged every night and for a final dig at Siemens, the slide can get very easily clogged up and cleaning it requires a lot of patience and a needle. Apart from that, Siemens have once again brought out a phone that could be a huge hit.
