Had this phone 18 months now so this review is a bit over due.

But you can still buy the phone new or second hand, so it must be popular to have lasted this long as phones seem to be continually moving on. If their no good they just get discarded and replaced with a newer model, that doesn't always mean better.

Prices for this phone range from, £150 to £200.
But it is also available on a cantract.

Mine came free on a Vodafone contract with manual, phone charger, and softwear.

Once i got the box open all i wanted to do was try this phone, it looked and felt fantastic, but as with all new phones you have to charge the battery for about 17 hours. This is such a disappointment, mobile phone companys should pre charge the batteries so you can be up and running as soon as you open the box.

I'm not a manual reader and jumped straight into the deep end and started filling the phone with numbers. The manual is very straight forward and all in English. Using the camera and video,it was all very straight forward and a joy to use. But i was disappointed with the camera, you have to have a very steady hand or the photo is very blured. Video quality is not bad.The sliding action is smooth to open and close the phone.

Once the phone is slid open the screen lights up.Their is a joystick that you use to navigate around the screen, this is very easy to use.The keypad is very good for texting and if the T9 does not recognise a word you can spell it then save the word.

The ringer is loud and their is a good selection of ring tones. You can have the phone on ringer, ringer vibrate, vibrate or silent.

Battery life was ok to start with, but after 18 months i am charging every day.

Volume can be set to various enviroments including noisy and quiet. It has only been on very few occasions when i have been unable to hear the caller.

Oneday getting into car phone rings as i am sliding the phone open in one hand as i have always done with flip phones, it slips out of my hand and bounces down the drive. Totally devastated expecting the worst. Phone had survived with a few scratches. So quite a sturdy phone but easily scratches.
Tried replacing the covers at a phone shop but they said you couldn't get them as the phone was that new. He also said if i could exchange the phone it would be better as they had 10 SL65's returned that week knackered.

My phone is in my pocket at work all day and i have found it scratches very easily not just on the case but on the screen too. There are covers out there but why get such a nice phone if you are going to cover it up. Also the phone turns itself off on a regular basis, even when the keys are locked.

You can get loads of accessories for the SL65 from Ebay or phone shops which i couldn't when i got new.

My next phone will be a flip phone, i like them better than the sliders, but don't let that put you off this phone it is very good and i have enjoyed it for the last 18 months.

Not the phone for me.

I am very surprised you had to charge the phone for so long as I have NEVER had to charge a Siemens phone for more than 4 hours (except my original S6, and that was only for about 6 hours the first time) ~ my MT50 WAP and M50 phones are charged in one and a half to two hours and the charge lasts for up to ten days depending on usage. You wear the battery out if you over-charge it but it is possible to get a replacement battery for about £15 on a market stall ~ and possibly less on the internet ~ I must admit that when I was first looking at camera phones and digital cameras I was advised that the camera on this one was not very good; as I wanted a Siemens phone, I decided to go for a digital camera instead and bought the Fuji Finepix Q1 Digital for under £60 ~ the camera phone would have set me back nearly £90 and on top of that I would have had to pay for calls and e-mails to get the pictures on the website once I had a green dot by my name. ~ .................................................................................................... ~ ♥ ~ jes ~ ♥♥
