Hair removal is such a pain, especially when you have a fear of shavers! Luckily for me there are creams and sprays available that all offer a pain free hair removal experience. So after years of using Veet (originally known as Immac) spray and having nice, soft, hairless results I was distraught...

ProVery cheap.

ConsCheap, effective but drove me mad.

I purchased these from John Lewis over a year ago. I can’t remember exactly how much I paid I think it was approx £1.99. I have since seen them on Amazon for £1.50 Silkymit’s come in small card board packaging like an envelope without the folding lip to stick down. The top is not sealed at all...

The Silkymit is a product I have been using since I was a teenager, so to be honest I'm very surprised that I haven't reviewed it before now! It was actually my mother who recommended these to me, and I have been buying them ever since, although they're a product I only actually use probably once...

“Sandpaper for your legs”

published 15/12/2004

ProPainfree, no hassle hair removal

ConsCan take a while to get the hang of.

OK, girls, let's be honest hair removal is not the most pleasant part of our beauty regime. It is either messy, painful, or both. I've tried every new product as it becomes available, or I thought I had. Shaving irritates my skin and leaves me with a rash. Cream is messy and takes too long and as...

“Hair removal heaven!”

published 10/06/2006

ProSmooth legs, no pain like when shaving, cheap!

ConsCan take a while to do.

I unfortunately suffer with extremely sensitive skin and to just shave my legs can be dreadfully painful and leave them red raw; not very attractive to be honest, therefore I have been in search of a hair removal method that isn't quite so painful and that doesn't make my legs look as blotchy. So...

Constakes a while to get right, quick regrowth

The search for the perfect hair removal method. Will it ever end? I've tried them all- waxing, shaving, depilatory creams, epilators...and now, silkymits. When I saw these at Superdrug for just 99p for a 3 pack, I had to give them a go. And now, I offer up my experiences to help all other women...

“silky mitts and burn smell”

published 07/10/2008

Proexfoliates smooth legs

Conssmells, timely and uncomfortable

Silky mitts are great for occasional use only! They are cheap and cost effective but do really rub off a couple of layers of the skins. When I have used them more than once a week it made my skin sore. They are also not so great if you want to pre-long your tan or using fake tan as it goes...

my experience with silky mitts is that they do get your legs amazingly smooth however after a while they do not actually remove hair but it is great for after shaving/waxing etc as it makes your legs really soft and smooth the only downside apart from not really removing the hair is the fact that if you have sensitive skin or skin conditions etc you do get a bit of a rash and you have to be careful how hard you press as you can end up in agony but the smooth supple skin lasts at least a few days and i use mine after shaving and then again when my legs are rough so overall is a good product =]
