We had been looking for a new bed for ages and hadn't found anything that was soft enough to be comfortable yet offered enough support for us. My partner suffers from back and neck pains so support with comfort was important. We had bad experiences with even expensive sprung mattresses wearing out quickly and so weren't keen on getting even a top of the range sprung mattress. When we found a Dunlopillo stockist and tried out their range we were delighted. They offer a range from 100% latex (most expensive) to I think 25% latex 75% dunlopreme foam (cheapest) in various firmness and base options (sprung slat, sprung edge and platform). The Flamenco is a 50% Latex 50% Dunlopreme foam matress and we had the platform base as the matress felt firmer and so suited us better. Since buying it we wake up feeling as if we have had a sound ...
Advantages: Very comfortable with good storage under the base. Disadvantages: You don't want to get out of it!!!
I received my new Sealy bed about 6 weeks ago. I suffer from a bad back - so having read the reviews on the bed which has twice as many springs for extra support as a normal bed I was convinced this would only improve my nights sleep. i was right. The sealy bed is very comfortable - with a layer of memory foam on the top, this may sound odd but its also a very warm bed. It tends to hold body heat which if you're always cold like me is a bonus.
Mine came with four drawers which are very useful as - its a double bed, the storage available within the four drawers is very handy and out of sight.
The bed is light and easy to assemble.
The only thing I had to get used to is it stands higher off the ground than my previous bed. So at first it seemed like I was having to climb into it - but you get used to this after a while ...
Advantages: Easy to put together, great price Disadvantages: See review
For some reason, Mum always liked having a spare bedroom. We live in a 4 bedroom house, and originally, there was the Master room for mum, then a bedroom for my sister, and me and my two brothers shared the next room, leaving another free. Jaimie then moved out, leaving her room free, and Robert moved into the previously spare room. Liam and I then shared rooms. That was back in 1994 or something, and we kept sharing from then on. Eventually, however, it got to the point where we were a bit too old to be sharing a room, and so I kicked Liam out into the spare room, where he slept on a sofa. That was about 2006, and things were fine. I took apart the bunkbeds, and had one, while he was content with the settee.
The first thing on our lists of needed things, was a new bed. Liam needed a bed point blank, and I wanted to get a double bed ...
