Here we go, another beauty op! This time it’s on a moisturiser that I received for Xmas last year. I’d been wanting one for ages as I find that in the cold my skin goes incredibly dry and peels off which looks very interesting and attractive in the middle of winter! Father Christmas obviously knew this and decided to treat me!
I’ve never really used any Simple products before but have always heard good things about them, they are especially meant to be good for sensitive skin and whereas my skin isn’t that sensitive I thought it would be better to apply something that is gentle as opposed to a harsher product.
One of the things that Simple advertises about themselves is how they are ‘Not perfumed, not coloured, just kind’… yes I’m sure we’ve all heard that before! You cant really expect any thrills from Simple as they go for the very plain and simplistic approach to skin care so if your expecting wonders then I wouldn’t recommend this product!
The packaging is quite plain and doesn’t particularly stand out. It comes in a white tube with a green lid. The product stands up right and the lid is at the bottom not at the top if you get what I mean? So you only have to squirt the product downwards, straight on to your hand. I personally like this as I hate having to squeeze the last little bits out of tubes and with this design all the cream is obviously falling downwards anyway.
On the packaging is various information about the product written in green small writing, here are some of the main points….
• Pro-vitamin B5 and UV protection • All skin types • A light instantly absorbing cream • Keeps your skin soft and smooth • pH balanced
The information is very easy to read as it is quite large which makes a pleasant change from having to squint at minute writing on other products!
To sum up the packaging….. It is quite plain and doesn’t jump out at you but this could be a good thing. The information is clear and easy to read and all relevant and useful.
To apply the cream you unscrew the lid and squirt the cream into your hand. You then apply the cream with your hands using upwards movement smoothing the cream over your face. Simple!!
This product has a very faint smell. It’s hard to describe it but to me it smells slightly of baby lotion. It smells very clean and fresh but beware it is extremely subtle! I personally like the fact that this cream doesn’t really smell of anything as the last thing you need is to smell of several different products at once! The cream itself is a very white colour and has a great consistency. It is not thick (like Nivea) but it is not runny either and is easy to squirt out of the bottle onto your hands. I have used quite a few moisturisers in my (short) time and I can honestly say that this cream is one of the quickest to absorb into your face ever! It is a case of now you see it, now you don’t! The cream is very easy to rub in and literally sinks into your skin in a matter of seconds. I really like this feature as I can’t be bothered to wait for it to sink in as it I don’t have much time in the mornings and I hate it when my skin looks and feels greasy after applying a moisturiser!
Having said all this I wouldn’t really say it’s the best moisturiser on the market for several reasons. If I’m honest I wouldn’t really say I noticed an immediate or noticeable difference in my skin other then it being slightly smoother then usual. When I have used other products my face just felt a lot smoother and cleaner and fresher and I didn’t really notice it with this cream, even after prolonged use.
There are lots of things I like about the Simple range, for example they actively fund recycling initiatives, they are suitable for all skin types and they are against animal testing but I have to admit I do find their products quite average, especially this one. However, this is probably an ideal cream for sensitive skin that is dry and itchy because of its simple ness and easiness to use. It is also a good product for teenagers as it’s quite cheap and wouldn’t aggravate their skin.
150ml of this product costs £4:85 from Boots. I have the 50ml version so I would imagine this would have cost around the £2 mark. The cream will last a long time (I’ve had mine since Xmas) so technically its worth what you pay for it as it would work out at around a pound a month. I’d really recommend Bodycare for this product as I’m sure it would be a lot cheaper!
In conclusion this product does have a lot going for it and I would recommend it for people with sensitive skin, but it didn’t make enough of a difference on my face for me to buy it again!
Thanks for reading and feel free to leave any comments xxx
Advantages: Simple Disadvantages: I dont like the type of lid
...My daughter gave me some Simple daily light moisturiser as we had been talking about the condition of my skin. I swim every day and I wanted to firm up a little. I had seen other ladies using some form of cream or oil after they had been swimming and I thought that due to my age and having lost a little weight recently it wouldn’t harm to try and tone up my body and look after my skin.
This saved me a lot of hassle coz I didn’t need to go shopping ... ...it says that it is simple daily light moisturiser with pro-vitamin B5 and that it can be used for all skin types. It is dermatologically approved not perfumed, not coloured just kind.
Well I can agree that it has no perfume. I’m not sure whether I like this, but seeing as I have funny skin I didn’t want to take too many risks. Its not coloured because it is white – is that a colour? Should it be colourless?
On the back of the container it says ...

Advantages: Great skin, great to use, great value for money! Disadvantages: The packaging isn't as appealing as others around.
...it either. The Simple range is designed for sensitive skin – it is un-perfumed, un-coloured and extra gentle. This product is no exception. I even use it when I have sun burnt or irritated skin and it usually helps calm it down. It claims to be ‘dermatologically approved’ and that is had ‘no unnecessary additives’. And while we’re on the topic of useless information – the bottle tells us that Simple ‘actively ... ...Oh I do wonder what they put in other moisturizers… The moisturizer itself is a good consistency – fluid enough to rub in easily, but not so fluid that it goes everywhere when you squeeze it out the bottle. It feels good as it goes on and is absorbed into the skin really quickly. The down side to Simple, this product in particular, is that it is not particularly stylish. The bottle is long and white with a green lid - nothing too fancy ...

...my skin, this moisturiser is Simple Daily Light Moisturiser. If you haven't heard of the brand name Simple let me tell you a bit about it. Simple is a brand that doesn't use any form of fragrance or colours within their products so that the products are suitable for people with sensitive skin or can be used by some people with skin conditions.
Moisturising is best to be done on your face after cleansing and toning which provides the best form ... ...The Simple Test
So after cleansing and toning I use this moisturiser everyday before I go to bed, the moisturiser is very light as the name suggests, it isn't difficult to rub into the skin either. It is also non-greasy which is brilliant as some moisturisers leave a greasy film on your face but I can assure you this one does not. The best way to apply the moisturiser is to smooth it gently onto your face and neck area using an inward and outward ...

Advantages: great clean feeling, sooths spots Disadvantages: has no effect on pore size
Having fallen in love with simple's lightdailymoisturiser I decided to try the travel size toner. Now bearing in mind I had never used a toner before (sorry to all those girls screaming!) I really love this product!
I am now hooked and use it twice daily and I am disgusted that I didn't use toner before! For all of you who don't... you better start! For years thinking that after I had washed my face all the dirt was gone, imagine my disbelief when I used this toner and discovered all the makeup and dirt that was STILL on my face! This leaves my face feeling sooooooo clean! I love it.
It's also packed with great ingredients that are fabby for your skin, such as witchhazel, I've never been a spotty person but we all get the odd few and this really helps to sooth and combat breakouts.
However my only problem is that I didn't notice any ...
Advantages: The pump dispenser bottle Disadvantages: You still have to be careful about the quantity that is dispensed
Well after my little mishap with the Simpledailylightmoisturiser I decided that I needed to try a different body lotion. This time reading the bottle to ensure that it was meant for the body and not just the face.
I went into my local Sainsburys with my son, which was very brave of him as we were walking up and down the aisles where the beauty products were (mind you he did buy some anti spot stuff).
To begin with I came across the expensive brands starting price about eight pounds and I thought NO. Not for something that I may not like or use, and also because I swim daily so the chlorine smell could overpower the aroma of the body lotion and if I spend that amount of dosh I would expect it to be extra special.
Anyhow my purse was not overflowing and the other financial demands this month made me look at the products in ...
Advantages: NOT PERFUMED NOT COLOURED JUST KIND Disadvantages: VERY PRICEY
I decided to try the moisturiser, that was £2, again at the local chemist.
It is a white bottle containing 150ml, with simple written across it in white writing. There is a silver ring around the centre of the bottle and it says dailylightmoisturiser, with pro-vitamin b5.
Underneath this it says for all skin types. It says dermatalogically approved, not perfumed, not coloured, just kind.
On the back of the bottle it says simple products are 100% perfume and colour free with no unnecessary additives to care for the needs of your sensitive skin.
It states that it is a lightmoisturiser with a non-greasy and instantly absorbed lotion, pro-vitamin b to soften your skin, and is ph balanced.
Simple skincare contains no animal derived ingredients. I found this moisturiser to be really effective.
It softens the skin just ...
