These days, it seems we can buy disposable wipes for all number of different things. Cleaning floors, Polishing, disenfecting.... It makes me wonder if they are all exactly the same beneath the packaging... no surely not! Well I came across Simple Cleansing Facial wipes and haven't looked back.
These cleansing wipes are extremely convenient and easy to use. They cleanse, tone and moisturise in one easy step, eliminating the need for cotton pads and a separate cleanser, toner and moisturiser. Simple state on the packaging that they are 100% perfume and colour free with no unnecessary additives. They also contain active ingredients selected to care for even sensitive skin. They are basically disposable moist cloths in a toughened form of a tissue. The wipes are suitable for removing make-up and even waterproof mascara.
The wipes come in a small square packet, predominantly green in colour. The Simple logo is printed on the front with other information and statements shown here. There is a resealable pull back sticker, with instructions on the reverse of the packet. The packet has a 'Fresh' look about it, probably because of the green colouring. It doesn't look fancy or gimmick, just simple… funnily enough.
Each pack contains a generous 25 wipes, just under one months supply if used once daily. Each wipe measures approximately 15cm x 12cm, which I find to be adequate for the job in hand. I think that they feel quite substantial, and they are slightly thicker than cheaper ones which I have tried. Although they are not perfumed, they do have a very delicate fresh smell to them. To touch, they feel soft and slightly moist, but certainly not too wet.
Directions for use tell us that we should lift the resealable sticker to remove a wipe. Gently wipe over the eyelids, face and neck to cleanse the skin. Make sure that the packet is properly sealed to prevent drying out. I find the seal to be very good and have noticed that even the final wipe is just as 'damp' as all the others before it. Throw away in a bin as they are not flushable.
I buy mine from Tesco as that is where I do all of my shopping, they cost me around £2.99 for a packet of 25. The price varies quite a lot though, because they frequently have money off, or two for three offers etc. These wipes are, however, available at a wide range of supermarkets and chemists. Anywhere that stocks cleansing wipes should have these. These wipes are100% Oil and Alcohol free. All of the Simple skincare products contain no animal derived ingredients.
I have tried quite a few other facial cleansing wipes and have found some that I believe to be better than the Simple ones, and some that I believe to be worse. The reason that I stuck with these is that there is nothing I can actually fault, and they are very good value for money. The 'better' ones have reflected this in their price and are ok as a luxury. The 'not so good' I wouldn't choose to use again anyway.
I am fairly lazy when it comes to skincare, however I can manage this 'one step' routine, because it is so quick and easy. I must confess, I don't bother with the neck bit, but then again, my neck doesn't get make-up on it. I use these daily and they remove my make-up well, including mascara, my skin is left feeling cleansed and refreshed. I do, however, feel the need for an added moisturiser, but in my opinion, this would be the case for all wipes. They are good but not THAT good. I also find that these wipes are fantastic when travelling. Much more convenient that the traditional method of removing make-up.
I like my 'proper' skincare routine but find these convenient for the odd late night when I just cant be bothered.

Great review. I find that 25 wipes isn;t enough for me, though - I use one in the mroning and one in the evening. The best wipes I have found so far are Asda's own - 80 in a pack and they are really good wipes as well, with a slightly patterned texture to get all the grime off! x
